It is with deep sorrow that we announce that Richard "Dick" Feiner passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at age 87. Though born in Cleveland, OH, Dick spent the majority of his life in suburban Philadelphia, PA with his beloved wife of 57 years, Charlene, where they raised their two sons, Adam and Drew.

After his love for his family, his other personal passions included volunteering with the Oakmont Volunteer Fire Department and later Bryn Mawr Fire Departments, first as a firefighter and later as a fire photographer. The latter allowed him to combine his hobby of photography with his love of the fireservice. He was also an avid model railroader and collected O-Gauge model trains from childhood through the time of his passing. Anyone who visited their home in Havertown, PA would easily recall Dick's authentic five-foot square Pennsylvania Railroad sign mounted to their basement wall and full around-the-room train display. Or they might recall Dick turning on the blue light atop his car as he raced to fight a fire and save lives and property for public service.

Since 2020, Dick enjoyed his relocation to Pittsburgh, PA where he and Charlene cherished their opportunity to meet new friends at New Riverview Towers and spend more time with their son, Drew, daughter-in-law, Maggie, and grandchildren, Caroline, Penny, and Leo. Dick also enjoyed his role as Treasurer of the Riverview Towers Renters Association and of his role designing the annual model train displays he would run every December for all the residents and visitors to see.

Dick was an electrical engineer, having earned his degree from Villanova University. He joked that he put his training to good use in designing his elaborate basement model train display.

Dick is survived by his beloved wife Charlene Feiner. He was the loving father of Adam (Tara) Feiner and Drew (Maggie) Feiner, and cherished brother of Viki Roth. He was the devoted grandfather (Pappa) of Caroline, Penny, and Leo Feiner and uncle of David Panzer, Marco Roth, Lauren Burns, and Melissa Panzer.

Dick's presence will be sorely missed, especially his warmth, kindness, and sense of humor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association at heart.org/en or the National Volunteer Fire Council at nvfc.org/donate-to-the-nvfc/, both of which support causes meaningful to Dick.

Services for Dick will be held at Ralph Schugar Chapel, Inc., 5509 Centre Avenue, Shadyside, Pittsburgh, PA 15232, on Monday, January 19, 2026 at 10:00 AM. There will be NO prior visitation. Interment will follow at Homewood Cemetery, 599 S Dallas Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15217.

The family will be sitting shiva Monday, January 19 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM with minyan at 7:00 PM; and on Tuesday, January 20 and Wednesday, January 21 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM with minyan at 7:00 PM. Contact Ralph Schugar Chapel at 412.621.8282 for details. www.Schugar.com

DR. PETER KENNETH LINDEN: It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Peter Kenneth Linden on December 15, 2025, at the age of 73.

Peter was born May 18, 1952 in Brooklyn, New York to Joseph and Dorothy Linden. The family relocated to White Meadow Lake, New Jersey where Peter was raised alongside his older brother Richard and twin sister Barbara. Peter was an active and independent child who excelled in sports, especially baseball and tennis, and gained a reputation as a bit of a prankster in the White Meadow Lake community.

Later on, Peter became an accomplished academic, starting his collegiate education at Rutgers University where he earned two Bachelors degrees in biology and physiology. He went on to obtain a doctoral degree of dental medicine from Boston College, followed by a medical degree from Hahnemann Medical College.

Peter started his career as a medical doctor completing a residency in anesthesiology at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He then moved to Washington, D.C. where he completed an internship and residency in internal medicine as well as a fellowship in infectious disease at George Washington University. Peter met and married MaryAnne Nelson, an oncology nurse at George Washington, and the two moved to Pittsburgh, PA in 1988 for an opportunity at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Here he completed two more fellowships before becoming the Director of the Transplant ICU, a position he held for 19 years while also publishing research in infectious disease that would positively impact the operation of ICUs around the world. Peter transferred to Allegheny General Hospital in 2009 where he served as the Director of Surgical Critical Care until retiring to part-time in 2025. Peter also held the title of professor at three universities and traveled to dozens of countries over the course of his career to share his research. Beyond his titles and accolades, Peter will be remembered by his colleagues as a brilliant medical mind, a clear and compassionate communicator with patients and families, and a pillar of consistency and calm in the face of crisis.

Beyond his illustrious career, Peter was a dedicated father to his four children, with whom he delighted in spending his time outside of work and sharing his personal interests. He imparted an appreciation for comedy across the ages, sports play and competition, and the rewards of raising canine children. His playful and loving spirit will be remembered and celebrated in games of Scrabble, Marx Brothers movie marathons, Weather Channel naps, chocolate bundt cakes, trips to Hilton Head Island, and most of all, in the memories of those who knew and loved him.

Peter is preceded in death by his loving wife, MaryAnne Nelson Linden, with whom he raised their four children, and his devoted partner, Shelly Young-Roy, with whom he spent the final years of his life.

Peter is survived by his children Joseph Linden, Hannah Linden, Catherine (Adrian) Piatkiewicz and Jack (Margaret) Linden, as well as his grandchildren Robyn, Clara, and Cameron. He is also survived by his siblings Richard Linden and Barbara Genovese. The family will host a memorial for Peter at his home on Saturday, January 3rd from 1 PM - 3 PM, with eulogies to be delivered at 2 PM. Samuel Matthew Levine
April 11, 2006 - December 16, 2025

Samuel (Sam) Levine passed away in his sleep surrounded by love in his home on December 16, 2025 at the age of 19 years, following a courageous 19 month battle with DIPG, a rare and aggressive brain tumor.

Sam was the beloved son of Stephen Levine and Kara Levine, and the cherished twin brother of Leah Levine. He was a deeply loved grandson of Rosalind and Farrel Levine, Michael and Pamela Levinson, and Suzanne and Carl Zittrer. Sam was also treasured by his aunts, uncles, cousins, a large extended family, many many friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Sam graduated from Upper St. Clair high school with high honors one month after his DIPG diagnosis. With initial intentions of attending Ohio State University on a Buckeye scholarship, after his diagnosis, Sam decided to attend the University of Pittsburgh, finally giving in to his love of Pitt since early childhood.

Sam loved watching and playing sports, had a true passion for life, and felt an extraordinary love for the people in his orbit. He valued friendships deeply and had a rare ability to make others feel seen, supported, and included. Whether in the school hallways, with his teammates and classmates, or simply spending time with friends, Sam thrived on connection and community. His kindness, determination, quiet humor, mischievous smile, easy laugh, and genuine care for others left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Sam faced his illness with remarkable courage, strength, and grace. Even in the most difficult moments, he remained thoughtful, resilient, and deeply himself, inspiring those around him by the way he lived and loved. Sam will be remembered always for his generous spirit, his unwavering determination, and the love he gave so freely. Sam will be profoundly missed and forever loved.
