Changes are Happening!

I am so very happy to announce that In The Moment will be under new ownership beginning June 1st, 2022. Shauna Hines-Lucadamo will be taking over the practice and is committed to providing continued excellent service. Shauna has been working with me for the past several years and I am confident that she is just the right person to take over for me. She is kind, professional, knowledgeable, and committed to providing individualized and excellent treatment to all who enter the doors of In The Moment. Shauna is a graduate of Pittsburgh School of Massage Therapy, a licensed massage therapist, trained in trauma-informed massage and is a Reiki practitioner. She brings all her skills and talents with an open heart to In The Moment.

As for me, I am a little sad and a little excited that it is time for me to retire. I have really loved doing massage for the past 25 years and I am certain that I will miss it. I am excited about the new adventures and possibilities that this time of my life will hold. I am so grateful for having had the opportunity to do what I love with the most wonderful clients that I could imagine.

I wish you continued health, happiness and all wonderful things that life has to offer.

We are happy to announce that we will be re-opening our office beginning 2/1/2021.

Please read the following carefully:

We require all clients to wear a properly fitting mask the entire time while in IN THE MOMENT SPACE.
If you have any symptoms of illness, please cancel your appointment. These symptoms include but are not limited to fever, severe headache, body aches, cough or congestion, loss of smell and/or taste.
Please cancel your appointment if you have been in contact with anyone with the above mentioned symptoms within the last 2 weeks.
Please call the office to discuss your appointment if you have ever been diagnosed with Covid19 anytime in the past.

We have taken all necessary precautions to make your visit as safe as possible. Our staff has been trained by an Industrial Hygienist to the proper use of PPE and environmental safety such sanitization and air filtration.

I am sad to say that we are still temporarily closed due to the continued high number of Covid19 cases in Allegheny County.
We will be closed until at least February1, 2021. We will reassess at that time to determine if it is wise to reopen or continue to remain closed until numbers are more under control.

May this New Year bring us peace and safety..

We Are Re-Opening June 8, 2020!

It has been a long few months. I hope you all are doing well and staying safe. The Governor has announced that Massage Therapy may now re-open, so here we go! As much as we would like things to go back to "normal", we are not there yet. We are making a great effort to keep you safe as well as maintaining safety for our staff at In The Moment.

Here is the list of changes that we have made are:

1. Staff and clients are required to wear a mask at all times while in the building. I have a system in place that while clients are face down on the massage table, they may remove their mask and still maintain safety. (It involves a creative use of a pillow case!)
2. Staff and clients will have their temperature and oxygen levels checked upon arriving at the office. If either indicate illness, we will cancel the appointment.
3. Extra time is in place in order to thoroughly disenfect the office after each client.
4. You will be required to fill out and sign a Covid 19 liability waiver before your appointment.
5. For the next 30 days, online booking will remain off. This means you will have to call the office in order to schedule your appointment. (412-364-3731) This is in place in order that I can monitor any changes in information or prescribed protocols that may need to be put in place either by the governor or the CDC.

By both staff and clients doing their part, we can take care of each other.

If you feel that returning to massage is not the right thing for you at this time, we totally respect your decision. Please call when you feel the time is right. Also, if you have any questions at all, please call me and I will try to answer to the best of my ability.

Invitation to join me in Meditative Awareness.

It is helpful to see where we are when we start the day....what our bodies feel like, where are minds are focused, what our hearts are experiencing.

Join me as we sit quietly in meditation and witness where we are. We can watch our thoughts and our emotions without becoming our thoughts and emotions.

We may not have much physical space in our lives right now, but meditation can help provide the space so we can escape our habitual narrow view and glimpse the bigger picture.

In The Moment will be closed through April 30th. Close to that time, depending on circumstances, we wil re-evaluate how to proceed.

We wanted to inform you that we are doing our part to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus by closing our doors for at least the next 2 weeks. We are following the recommendations of the Allegheny County Health Department to close all non-essential businesses. It is our understanding that people do not necessarily have to exhibit symptoms to be contagious so we all can not be 100% sure if we have or have not been exposed.

By Closing our office, we hope to be part of breaking the spread of this virus. At the end of April, we will reassess and make a decision to re-open or not at that point in time.

Please follow the CDC guidelines and stay safe.

Your health and safety are our biggest priority. We understand that working closely with our clients requires a high level of care and cleanliness. We have increased the frequency of cleaning our front office and our treatment room, wiping surfaces with disinfectant before and after each client, including door k***s, chairs, desk, water cooler, microwave, etc. in addition to our normal sanitization procedures of our treatment table and laundry.

We care about you and ask that you follow the recommendations of the CDC... frequent hand washing, social distancing, staying home if you have any symptoms - no matter how mild - and only touching your face after having washed your hands and as infrequently as possible. My staff and myself will be following these same guidelines.

In order to help you and our staff and all our clients remain as healthy as possible, we ask that you reschedule your appointment if:

1.You currently have a fever or symptoms of a respiratory infection, such as a cough, shortness of breath or a sore throat.
2. You have traveled internationally or domestically within the last 14 days to affected geographic areas.
3. You have had contact with someone with known or suspected COVID-19.

Your health and wellness is important to us, so please follow these guidelines to protect yourself and others.

As new information becomes available or as circumstances change in our immediate community, we will respond as needed, including the possibility of closing our office. For right now we will remain open but will respect your decision to cancel if you feel the need to do so.
