Oh hey! Lots of new followers so it seems a good time to introduce myself. My name is Heather McNeil and I have been a licensed massage therapist for 6 years in the great state of Pennsylvania. I'm pictured here with our state flower, mountain laurel!

I approach life with an easy-going curious nature and my therapeutic style reflects that. Adaptation is crucial and kindness is paramount. I believe in hard work, yes, but that is not the be-all end-all of progress, healing, and recovery. In my office, therapeutic bodywork sessions look different for each person everyday and I use a variety of massage modalities such as:
- myofascial release
- craniosacral therapy
- deep tissue, sports, and medical massage
- cupping therapy
- hot stone massage
- pampering facial massage (!!!)
- aromatherapy
- good ole fashion relaxation/swedish style massage

I love what I do, and it is an honor to work with a wide variety of folks. Helping you strengthen your mind-body connection and aid you in your body's self healing processes is the freaking coolest.

In my spare time I lead a very happy and funny life with my husband Zach, our native plant & vegetable gardens, and tons of bird and animal friends in the woods of Garfield.

I quietly added facial massage to my menu! Each facial massage session will include pine steam towels; lymphatic drainage with a rose quartz roller & golden syrup; décolleté, face, jaw, and neck massage with rosehip & grape seed oil; cooling ice globe massage; acupressure and scalp massage.

This service doesn't treat skin issues - that's what estheticians and dermatologists are for - BUT this is a supremely relaxing service that just so happens to make your skin look glowy and snatched!

Cases are spiking, folks! If you are not feeling well, please stay home. I'll never be mad atcha! Please do take it easy, folks. Covid and the plethora of infectious illnesses out there love a stressed out body -- drink plenty of water and REST. It's winter after all -- time to slow down.

“May you live with ease, may you be happy, may you be free from pain”

Not only does this loving-kindness mantra make for a most effective meditation, but it is the foundation on which I have built my body-positive, trauma-informed practice. My goal is to support my clients’ self-healing processes through educated bodywork. I aim to help turn down the volume in stressed tissue to promote better functioning with customized, compassionate treatments using a variety of modalities. As a firm believer that little progress is made in a place of shame or denial I exhibit kindness, non-judgement, and patience towards my clients because I would like them to extend that to themselves. My practice is inclusive, anti-racist, LGBTQ+ friendly, and non-discriminatory. For the past decade, I have been working in the service industry to help create more connected, healthy, and equitable communities. My prior work experience has taught me that self-care and stress reduction are key in our ability to serve others. I have always had an interest in bodywork’s ability to improve health and in 2018 I decided to enroll in the Costa Rica School of Massage Therapy. This opportunity allowed for me to work and learn with leaders in the massage therapy, and develop a unique, well-rounded massage approach that includes Western Techniques, Myofascial Release, Neuromuscular Therapy, Craniosacral Therapy, and bodywork for PTSD.

I am currently based out of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. You can find me at Evolve Wellness Spa (www.evolvewellnessspa.com) on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Sunday. It is my belief that our personal health and well-being contributes to the health of all, and I look forward to helping you live better in our shared community.
