🌍 African Heritage and Health Week: A Celebration of Culture & Wellness
📅 February 7–13, 2026

Next week we celebrate African Heritage and Health Week which is a vibrant celebration honoring the rich cultural traditions, wisdom, and wellness practices of African communities across the globe. We are reminded of the deep connection between heritage, health, and the strength that comes from embracing both.

✨ Why This Week Matters
During African Heritage and Health Week, we take time to explore traditional foods, community-centered health practices, and the powerful history that continues to shape modern wellness. It’s an opportunity to learn, reflect, and celebrate cultural contributions that influence healthier living today.

ulture, uplift wellness, and celebrate the traditions that continue to inspire generations! 🌱💚

📢 January 23 is Maternal Health Awareness Day! 💙

Today we stand with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) to raise awareness about maternal health and the ongoing maternal mortality crisis in the U.S. This year’s theme — “Holding Ground on Maternal Health” — highlights the urgent need to continue making progress in preventing avoidable deaths and improving care for pregnant and postpartum people.

Did you know that more than 80% of pregnancy-related deaths are preventable with better access to care, earlier detection of risks, and evidence-based treatment?

👩‍⚕️ On Maternal Health Awareness Day, we:
✔️ Raise awareness of the causes of maternal deaths
✔️ Support equitable access to prenatal & postpartum care
✔️ Advocate for policies that protect mothers and families
✔️ Share resources to help pregnant and postpartum people stay safe and healthy 💪

Let’s honor moms and caregivers by spreading the word, supporting one another, and working toward safer pregnancies and births for everyone. 💙

#🩳❄️ SHAKE AND FREEZE DAY® (Shorts Day)
Parkinson’s Disease Awareness Day
December 21, 2025

Brrr! ❄️ Today is SHAKE AND FREEZE® Day, an annual Parkinson’s Disease awareness event held on the winter solstice — the “short”est day of the year!

On this chilly day, supporters wear eye-catching shorts and festive attire to represent the “shake and freeze” symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease and to raise awareness for those living with PD. Together, we’re showing support so that one day, people with Parkinson’s won’t have to face these challenges. 💙🧠

December 21st also marks the anniversary of Dr. James Parkinson’s passing — a meaningful day to honor his legacy and advocate for continued progress.

Join the movement, spread awareness, and strike a pose in your boldest winter shorts! 🩳❄️

🧼🤲 National Handwashing Awareness Week
December 7–13, 2025

It’s National Handwashing Awareness Week — a time to spotlight one of the simplest and most effective ways to prevent the spread of infectious disease: clean hands!

Our hands play a major role in how germs travel. By practicing proper handwashing, hand hygiene, and mindfulness, we can protect ourselves, our families, and our communities. Together, we can reduce seasonal illness and help prevent outbreaks. 💙

Join the movement to build healthier communities through cleaner hands!
