CMU's Human Computer Interface (HCI) students teamed up with CLASS this Spring to explore technological interventions to effectively support increased independence and quality of life for individuals with Traumatic Brain Injuries.

Our team of dedicated students spent their semester at CLASS' Structured Day Program learning about participant and staff needs before designing a tech-based solution ⚡
Their prototype? An AI-based platform that optimizes treatment and planning within the program. Thank you to our students Ellia, Anika, Annie, Anqi, Eichel, for joining CLASS in creating solutions and furthering accessibility for our participants!

New Device List Alert! 😍 TechOWL's Assistive Technology Lending Library has some new inventory available to borrow for free. Here are just a few examples...
-WeWalk Smart Cane: a cane that detects obstacles, pairs with an app for directional cues.
-Eve Aqua Smart Water Controller: automatically schedules sprinkler usage via an app and your hose.
-Hearview Subtitle Glasses: Designed for people who are Deaf or hard of hearing, these glasses provide live captions in your real-world environment.
-StellarTrek Navigation: a navigation assistant for people with vision impairments. It uses GPS technology as well as a built-in camera with artificial intelligence to deliver precise directions based not only on street addresses but also recognizing pedestrian crossings, traffic signals, and landmarks.
