While symptoms can resemble other common illnesses, early attention to warning signs can make a difference.

Watch for:

❓ Unexplained weight loss

The Leadership Essentials Training program is a seven-week interactive course tailored for office leaders in clinical and operational roles.

Each month, three offices participate by sending nine top leaders, such as operations managers, clinical managers and field support managers. Participants oversee key aspects of their offices, including financials, operations, team and caregiver development and patient care and satisfaction.

Each year, our private duty nurses come together for our annual Skills Fair — a hands-on event designed to refresh core competencies, ensure CEUs are up to date, and provide a space to grow together as a clinical community.

💙 “We couldn’t travel without our nurse.”

Rebecca’s son, Hudson, requires complex medical care. Over the years, her family has taken many trips—but one moment during the height of COVID reminded her just how essential their private duty nurse truly is.

When an airline nearly removed them from a flight because Hudson couldn’t wear a mask due to his condition, their Maxim Healthcare nurse stepped in and calmly advocated for him. After nearly two hours of calls and coordination, they were cleared to fly—and when they finally boarded, the entire plane clapped. ❤️

✨ That moment wouldn’t have been possible without their nurse.

For Rebecca’s family, traveling with a private duty nurse isn’t a luxury—it’s a lifeline. It allows them to care for Hudson safely, keep their family routine, and continue living life fully. 👋 Meet Audrey, our newest team member at Maxim! Audrey joined us this May, bringing her passion for helping others and a strong background in health and wellness. Before returning to Maxim, she worked as a nanny and personal trainer, but was ready for a more consistent schedule and a career where she could make a direct impact — and we’re so glad she chose us!

Originally from Akron, Ohio, Audrey just made the move to Pittsburgh. She studied Health & Wellness at the University of Dayton and is excited to start developing her career, learning new things, and meeting great people along the way.

Summer Kickoff with Maxim Healthcare: Growing Community and Personal Fulfillment

This May, Maxim Healthcare hosted a vibrant and heartwarming “Summer Kickoff” event for individuals enrolled in our Office of Developmental Programming (ODP). Designed to foster community inclusion, support personal growth, and encourage skill-building, the event brought together participants, their caregivers, and family members for a hands-on, joy-filled experience centered around creativity and connection.

Guests were welcomed into the office and invited to paint and decorate terra-cotta flower pots—a simple yet meaningful activity that gave each participant a chance to express their unique personality and artistic flair. Once their pots were beautifully adorned, they planted a flower inside, symbolizing both the arrival of summer and the personal growth we aim to cultivate in each participant.

Beyond the artistic expression, this event was thoughtfully crafted to align with each individual’s vision for a fulfilling life. Whether it was building fine motor skills, engaging in social interaction, or simply enjoying time with others in a supportive environment, each element of the event served a purpose. Caregivers and family members joined in, further reinforcing the importance of connection and shared experiences in building a strong, inclusive community.

At Maxim, we remain committed to offering activities that promote independence, creativity, and meaningful participation in everyday life. Events like the “Summer Kickoff” reflect our ongoing mission to support each person not just in achieving goals, but in living a life they find rich, enjoyable, and deeply fulfilling.
