Honored to share that I’ll be a guest panel speaker at the 37th Annual UPMC Health Plan Women’s Cancer Survivorship Workshop & Celebration 💜

I’ll be speaking about something deeply personal and foundational to why I started Soup for Hope—ovarian cancer, and the gap that exists between the research happening inside labs and what patients and communities actually understand.

In just a few minutes, I’ll share how that experience led to building a platform designed to bridge researchers, innovation, and community—so we can create greater understanding of the science, support earlier diagnosis, and open up more meaningful conversations.

Because the research is there. The innovation is happening.
But access, awareness, and connection are what change outcomes.

Grateful to be part of a day centered on survivorship, strength, and what’s possible when we come together.

Most people never get to see what actually happens inside research labs.

The people. The work. The impact.

We’re changing that.

When a company sends its employees across the world to understand the hands behind the work… that says everything.

Right now my friend Randall is in India with Jaipur Living, where the company brought a group of employees to experience the roots of where our rugs are made — meeting the artisans, walking the villages, and seeing generations of craftsmanship that live inside every thread.

A rug may be finished when the last knot is tied, but the story behind it continues through the people who make it.

What I respect about Jaipur Living is the belief that if we’re going to share something with the world, we should first understand and honor where it comes from.

Moments like this remind me that business can be more than transactions.

It can be connection.
It can be respect.
It can be a bridge between cultures.

Grateful to be part of a company that values the roots as much as the results. 🌍

Right here in Pittsburgh, Magee-Womens Research Institute has been leading this fight since 1992. Under Dr. Pamela Moalli’s leadership, MWRI is proving that women are not “smaller men”—they are biologically distinct, and the science must finally reflect that.
This isn’t a “women’s issue.”
This is a workforce issue.
This is an innovation issue.
This is a competitive-advantage issue.
If you’re a business leader who believes data-driven decisions create better outcomes, the next move is clear: support the research that actually studies the people who keep our companies and communities running.
👉 Follow Magee-Womens Research Institute for the next article in their “Business of Women’s Health” series.
👉 Reach out to learn how your organization can get involved—strategic partnerships, sponsorships, and thought leadership opportunities are open.
Healthier women build stronger workplaces.
Let’s stop treating it as optional.

What happens when we don’t study women? Their symptoms go ignored. They withdraw. They miss out on life.

Yesterday was a huge win for us-in only 7 months 🏅
Spending time with the executive team at UPMC Magee-Womens Research Institute made something very real for me: when donors truly understand where their donation dollars go, everything shifts.

I will show you this pathway and you can see your dollars in action.

The research happening in Pittsburgh isn’t theoretical.
It’s being used in real time, moving from lab to bedside to solve actual patient problems as they’re happening. That level of innovation is rare & uncommon.

What really stayed with me is how many of these projects are already making a difference around the 🌎 and i’ll stress how important it is that they don’t get slowed down or shut down due to lack of funding.

I can’t wait to share more about the research underway and why sustaining this work is such a game changer for women’s health and for the future of our city!

As I learn more, you will too!
