At CareXM, we analyze more home health and hospice triage data than any other post-acute partner. ​

Here’s what we’ve found about after-hours calls:​
65 to 70% involve changes in patient status or symptom management—these are the calls you expect and want after hours.​

30 to 35% are avoidable, such as medication refills, DME coordination, or supply requests.​

While these non-urgent needs are important to the patient experience, they don’t always require after-hours attention or belong in the after-hours workload.​
