We’re excited to share our department has partnered with El Dorado County Office of Education for their annual Giving Tree program! If you’d like to partner too, stop by our office in Cameron Park to pick up a tag from the tree. Each tag includes a child’s name along with their holiday wish list—whether it’s a dream toy, warm winter clothing, shoes, or other essentials. Sizes and interests are included to make shopping simple and meaningful.

EDCOE also hosts Giving Trees at various locations throughout El Dorado County. If Cameron Park isn’t convenient, you can find additional locations on EDCOE’s page or by contacting Family Engagement Coordinator Patricia Gordon at (530) 295-2305.

While you’re here, connect with our team, grab some freebies, or pick up a pamphlet to learn our services at Children's Behavioral Health. We are currently accepting new patients (ages 5–25), we accept most insurances, and offer self-pay options with a sliding fee scale.

If you have any questions, we’re here to help. Happy holidays and thank you for helping spread joy in our community!

ADHD Awareness Month

We provide therapy for ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) that involves addressing symptoms such as inattention, impulsivity, and hyperactivity while also helping clients improve executive functioning, emotional regulation, and self-esteem.

Our office uses an approach known as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors, to help them focus on improving organization, time management, and emotional regulation, and teaching common techniques such as scheduling, and goal setting.

Mental health is essential to overall wellbeing, yet millions of people still face barriers to care. In the U.S. alone, nearly 30 million people lack access to the mental health and substance use treatment they need. These aren’t just numbers, they’re our neighbors, coworkers, friends, and family. The impact goes beyond individuals, touching workplaces, schools, and communities.

Consider these statistics
1 in 5 U.S. adults experience mental illness each year
1 in 6 U.S. youth aged 6-17 experience a mental health disorder each year
1 in 20 U.S. adults experience serious mental illness each year
50% of all lifetime mental illness begins by age 14, and 75% by age 24
Su***de is the second-leading cause of death among people aged 10-14
