It explains the nutritional crisis' of learning and behavioral disorders, ADHD and mental health DSM111 conditions. It is a non-disputed fact that everyone, including very young children, and the elderly, would benefit from supplementing electrolyte minerals.
Here’s how a potassium & magnesium deficiency works in terms of how you feel it in your body:
1. Sodium (Na⁺) – this is the main driver of nerve signals. Low sodium makes nerves fire abnormally, which can feel like tingling, muscle twitching, or even “electric” numb pain. It makes muscles feel heavy and stiff, and amplify discomfort from minor injuries.
2. Potassium (K⁺) – this balances sodium in the nerve and muscle cells to reduce high blood pressure. Low potassium causes cramps, muscle stiffness, and hypertension. It makes normal movement feel uncomfortable and increase the perception of aches. Low potassium drastically slows recovery from muscle strain.
3. Magnesium (Mg+) is a natural nerve and muscle relaxer and a natural calcium channel blocker. Smooth muscles inside our blood vessels uses calcium to contract.
Magnesium deficiency increases nerve excitability, makes muscles twitch, triggers restless legs, and increases central "sensitization", meaning your nervous system interprets normal signals as more painful than they are.
Low levels of any of these 3 electrolytes will cause pain that gets labeled as fibromyalgia, and mis-diagnosis' of hypertension, depression and anxiety, sleep disorders (insomnia, restless leg), Migraines, "Age-related cognitive decline”, even essential tremors (or early Parkinson's). When it's actually an electrolyte deficiency!

I chose this brand because they are one of 3 products, the other is Dr Bergs Electrolyte powder (but costs $25 more, and there's NatureBell), that do contain an adequate amount of potassium and magnesium, and are made without chemical additives or sugar. The other 97% of electrolyte drinks on the market or sold in a store will contain insufficient elements and toxic additives that will "exacerbate" symptoms of decline - specifically these sports' brands: Powerade, Gatorade, IV Hydration, and Pedialyte.
The package label on PowerVitamins recommends 1 scoop/day - it is the child's dose the company conservatively uses. But the physiologic needs for adults require multiple scoops of (3-5) daily.
