There are always those willing to brave the weather. Especially if they live so close to something. Just remember most accidents happen 5 minutes from home. My own neighbor lost his dear wife once upon a snowstorm when she got out of her car to help someone in a multi car collision. So stay in your car if there is an accident until help arrives.
I also almost lost my own life in the aftermath of a snowstorm when roads were icy. I was going unbeknownst to me down hill brakes fully engaged as I knew I was coming to a stop sign. I wasn’t even going that fast, but since I was on a slope my car picked up speed. It wouldn’t stop even with brakes doing their job. I was literally skating on ice down the hill towards a Blazer going right of way with no stop sign 50-60 mph. Yeah it wasn’t a good day at all. I wish I had stayed home.
Moral of my stories is do yourself a favor. You can always do that thing or work tomorrow. If they don’t understand believe me when I say it isn’t worth it. It is never worth risking your life. Even if you have a Jeep which I absolutely know and have experienced to be the only vehicle that can get through very extreme weather and snow piles.
