Plainfield Precision has many years of experience with specialized technologies such as Spun Tip and MuCell as well as unique process such as Micro-Molding, Micro Stamping, and Multi-Slide metal forming. The components are often complex, requiring more than one manufacturing discipline, knowledge of many materials and how to join the materials to become one precision part. We have experience processing virtually every type of engineering and commodity thermoplastic, from Polyproplylene to glass filled Nylons, to Polycarbonate, or high temperature resins such as PEEK or PPA. Metal
We have extensive experience in producing stampings from specialized materials such as Titatium, Nickel 200, MP35N, 316L Stainless Steel, Kovar, Niobium, Platinum-Iridium, and Molybdenum in stock thicknesses from .0025”. The company is experienced in producing “micro stampings” in sizes as small as .040”x.040”, holding tolerances of .0005”. Automated Assembly
As an innovative, integrated manufacturer, we use in-line, fully automated processes to produce integrated stamp, mold, and assembled components with unparalleled consistency and precision. Utilizing a highly sophisticated automation system consisting of robotics, vision systems, laser detection, and custom packaging technology, the company currently produces a micro-assembly utilized in implantable devices. The injectable drug and delivery system segment is one area of Plainfield Precision’s medical’s experience and Surgical components are currently being produced at Plainfield Precision’s ISO certified facilities including those used in staple and suture removal devices, as well as electrical contact stampings and assemblies used in implantable devices such as pacemakers and defibrillators. The company also produces components for disposable devices, drug delivery systems, and electrical components. Current customers include industry leaders such as Medtronic, 3M, Boston Scientific, Valeritas, and Covidien and Carefusion Facilities are equipped with programmable vision systems and optical comparators, tensile (push/pull) testing equipment, and portable clean room environments.
