By focusing on what your child can do, you are helping them grow in self-confidence and self-esteem. Instead of focusing on what they can’t do, in which case you will just find a child that can’t do a whole lot.
Offer encouragement and words of praise to help your child grow in their strengths.

Everyone is different. This includes your child. Take some time to understand who they are at this moment. And, accept them for who they are.
Let go of expectations of how your child should be and accept how they are now.

Good communication, like really listening and talking, and paying attention to how you act and what your body language says, helps parents and kids work together. When kids feel like their parents respect them and truly hear them out, they're much more likely to respond positively.

The easiest way to lower defensives and remain calm while your child is behaving in a way that may not be appropriate for the situation - just get curious about what they are doing and why.

It's totally fine to make mistakes—in fact, we learn and grow from them!
Your kids are watching and learning from you, especially when you mess up. Show them it's okay to make mistakes as long as you give it a shot. This teaches them to bounce back and not be so scared of failing.
