Not all stiffness comes from tight muscles.

Many people assume discomfort is purely soft tissue related. While muscles can become tight and inflamed, joint restriction is a separate mechanical issue that limits motion at the spinal or extremity level.

Soft tissue tension often responds to massage or stretching. Joint restriction, however, may require specific adjustments to restore proper movement.
In our office, we assess both muscle tone and joint mobility to determine what is actually driving your symptoms.

The right treatment depends on the right diagnosis.

โ€œI canโ€™t say enough great things about Dr. Luke and his amazing team at the Pain & Wellness Center! From the moment you walk in, you feel welcomed โ€” the environment is calm, friendly, and professional.

During my first consultation, Dr. Luke took the time to truly listen to my concerns. He even took an X-ray of my back so we could review the issues together and create a personalized plan to get me back on track. I had been struggling with excruciating back pain for a few years, and by July 2025, it became unbearable. And I didnโ€™t want SURGERY! Thatโ€™s when I finally came to Dr. Lukeโ€™s office โ€” and itโ€™s one of the best decisions Iโ€™ve ever made.

At first, I had to come in multiple times a week, but now my back feels amazing and I donโ€™t need adjustments as often. Iโ€™m finally able to sleep through the night again, and the massages with Maria I receive during my visits help so much with my recovery.

Iโ€™m truly grateful for Dr. Luke and his wonderful staff. If youโ€™re dealing with sciatic nerve pain, back issues, or chronic pain of any kind, do yourself a favor and schedule an appointment here. Youโ€™ll be glad you did!โ€

Anterior knee pain is one of the most common complaints in active individuals.

Research shows that patellofemoral pain accounts for a significant percentage of knee pain cases, particularly in adolescents and runners. Studies suggest that altered patellar tracking and hip muscle weakness are common contributing factors.

Women and teen athletes are reported to have higher incidence rates, often due to biomechanical and alignment differences. Repetitive loading during sports can increase stress on the patellofemoral joint when tracking is inefficient.

Chiropractic care and targeted movement strategies aim to improve alignment and support more efficient motion. Addressing the cause helps reduce recurring knee strain.

Sitting increases lumbar disc pressure more than many people realize.

Research measuring intradiscal pressure has shown that sitting in a flexed posture can increase disc pressure compared to standing. Forward bending while seated increases this pressure even further.

Low back pain is one of the leading causes of disability worldwide, and prolonged sitting is considered a contributing factor in many occupational settings.

Extended periods of static posture reduce circulation to spinal structures and may increase mechanical stress over time.

Your body was designed to handle stress, but not nonstop stress.

The nervous system has two main modes. One is the fight or flight response, which prepares you for action. The other is the rest and regulate state, which supports recovery, digestion, and healing.

When stress becomes chronic, the body can remain in a heightened state of alert. This may contribute to muscle tension, shallow breathing, poor sleep, and increased pain sensitivity.

Nervous system reset strategies aim to shift the body back toward a regulated state. Techniques such as slow diaphragmatic breathing, consistent sleep routines, gentle movement, and reduced screen exposure before bed can help improve balance.

Regulation is not about eliminating stress. It is about improving your ability to recover from it.

Not all sports injuries happen from one bad play.

Studies show that overuse injuries make up a significant percentage of injuries in teen athletes, especially in those who specialize in one sport year round. Repetitive stress without adequate recovery can overload developing joints.

Adolescents are still growing, which means their biomechanics are constantly changing. Poor movement patterns during this phase can increase strain on the knees, shoulders, and spine.

We focus on evaluating joint motion, posture, and neuromuscular control to help reduce unnecessary stress on the body.

Prevention is just as important as treatment.

Stretching is not always the solution.

When something feels tight, the natural instinct is to stretch it. However, tightness is sometimes the bodyโ€™s protective response to joint instability or irritation.

If a joint is not moving properly, the surrounding muscles may tighten to guard the area. Aggressively stretching that muscle can increase irritation rather than solve the root issue.

In our office, we evaluate whether the problem is true muscle shortening or joint restriction. Treatment is based on what your body actually needs, not just what feels tight.

Stretching has its place, but it must match the cause.

Your screen habits may be shaping your spine.

When your head shifts forward during screen use, the spine must adapt. Muscles tighten, joints compress, and the nervous system can become irritated over time.

The effects are gradual, which is why many people do not connect their symptoms to screen habits.

Numbness is often a sign that a nerve is under stress.

In our office, we do not simply focus on the area where you feel the symptom. We evaluate the spine, joint mobility, and nerve pathways to determine where irritation may be occurring.

A restricted spinal segment or disc irritation can place pressure on a nerve root. When that happens, you may experience tingling, burning, or decreased sensation down the arm or leg.

Our approach is centered on restoring proper joint motion and reducing stress on the nervous system. When pressure is reduced and movement improves, nerve function can begin to normalize.

The goal is not just temporary relief, but improved communication between the brain and body.

If you get headaches by the end of the day, look at your neck.

Sustained forward posture increases pressure on the cervical joints and strains the small stabilizing muscles at the base of the skull.

These muscles can become tight and sensitive, referring pain into the temples, forehead, or behind the eyes.

Addressing joint mobility and posture mechanics can reduce the frequency and intensity of these episodes.

Headaches are not always random. They are often mechanical.
