🥶Tips for cold plunge
Be kind to yourself
I like to enter tank with Yogi Squat (Malasana) to help ground myself & lower center of gravity to ensure a deeper breath.
🌬️ Try expansion breath:
Deep breath in (filling lungs up)
Hold at top of inhale 1-2
Release with sound aaaaaahhhhh
Until you run out of breath or sound
Then repeat. Again.and again.
(The science behind expansion breath:
Holding at the top of your inhale allows air to pop open air sacs to recruit.
Releasing with sound (exhale) allows for longer exhale, creating more space for next breath in (increasing volume) AND using sound vibrates your vagus nerve to signal parasympathetic response.)
