In celebration of National Library Week, this features the Oceanside Library project. Completed in October 2024, this 48,000-square-foot facility includes a new theater/stage, a STEM workshop, a café, and a gallery, among other unique features. Following its completion, the Oceanside Library received significant recognition, being named one of the Top Public Projects in Long Island Business News’ 2025 Real Estate, Architecture & Engineering Awards.

We are well underway on the Tabler Quad New Residence Hall project for Stony Brook University! Underground utilities and superstructure commenced earlier this year. Recently completed items include tree removal, site clearing, and the concrete retaining wall, in addition to footings and foundations. With this progress, we expect the dormitory to top out over the summer.

This 4-story, 82,300-square-foot dormitory includes the construction of 2 residential apartment wings and 53 units. The West Wing and East Wing will be connected by a 5,000-square-foot centralized commons area with ample seating, a kitchenette, and separate conference and seminar rooms. The ground floor of each wing will have pantries, while each upper floor will be equipped with study with visual display boards. We are making excellent progress and are on track for project completion next year.

Our parent company, Obayashi Corporation, recently hosted its Construction Forum. During the event, EW Howell Construction Group had the opportunity to showcase the Battery Park Wagner Pavilion project to those in attendance. Daniel Chan, Project Manager, presented alongside Shun Hachisuka from Obayashi North America. We highlighted challenges and solutions we faced, while also delving into the planning and technical aspects of the project in question.

We want to thank Obayashi Corporation for providing us with the platform to discuss the Wagner Pavilion project in detail, illustrating its importance to our expansive portfolio.

Autism Acceptance Month celebrates the experiences and identities of autistic individuals, promoting a deeper understanding of autism all the while. EW Howell Construction Group was proudly honored at the AGC of America Convention in Orlando, Florida. Our organization received the second-place award in the Construction Safety Excellence Awards for the Construction Management Division 300,000 to 600,000 Hours Worked.

This award follows our achievement at the AGC NYS Safety Excellence Awards this past December, where we were presented with the 2025 Safety Excellence Award. EW Howell subsequently applied for the national award before we presented our safety program to the awards judges in Orlando.

We’d like to thank the Associated General Contractors of America for this incredible achievement as we uphold our unyielding commitment to safety in construction.
