Communication is more than spoken words. 💬
AAC (Augmentative & Alternative Communication) gives children another way to express their thoughts, needs, and ideas. Research shows it actually supports and increases spoken language, not replaces it!
In this Q&A, we’re answering some common questions we hear from parents:
✔️ Will AAC stop my child from talking?
✔️ Should AAC only be used in therapy?
✔️ Can it be used during playdates and social activities?
✔️ What is aided language stimulation?
The short answer: AAC is a voice. And like any voice, it should be used everywhere…at home, at school, in therapy, and with friends!
When children see and experience language modeled on their device, they learn how to use it to connect, share, and participate in the world around them.
