Grateful for the opportunity to travel to Albany and attend a thorough briefing to prepare for advocacy as a member of the IAC. Days like this are a powerful reminder that effective lobbying starts with being informed, intentional, and united.

As we engage policymakers around the SFY 2027 budget priorities, I’m proud to help advocate for the causes and asks that matter most to individuals with disabilities and the Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) who make community living possible every day.

Hearing Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara speak with such passion rooted in his own experience advocating for his son was especially powerful. His message underscored the importance of ensuring individuals with disabilities have real options to continue living in their communities, surrounded by family, support, and opportunity.

“Budgets are moral documents how we fund services reflects what we truly value as a society.”

Strong investments in disability services aren’t just line items in a budget they are commitments to dignity, equity, and opportunity.

From the unique entertainment to the feel-good music that kept the energy high, every detail reflected appreciation for our amazing team.

The heartfelt speeches and genuine sentiments shared by our dedicated staff were a powerful reminder of what makes our organization special. We were pleased to welcome the leadership team from Long Island Select Healthcare to Community Care Rx (CCRx) for a thoughtful and productive conversation focused on collaboration and shared goals.

Long Island Select Healthcare plays an important role in our community by supporting providers and organizations that care for some of our most vulnerable populations. Their leadership’s commitment to quality, accountability, and continuity of care is evident, and it was meaningful to exchange insights on how we can better align pharmacy services with real-world operational needs.

At CCRx, we view partnerships like this as essential. It was an honor to welcome Willow Baer, Commissioner of the NYS Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), and Michelle Torres, Director of Regional Field Office 5.
