Centrally located in Plainview, many patients come to Central Island Healthcare for short term rehabilitation after they have been in the hospital, after having had a stroke, surgery, heart attack, or been an accident. Our specialized subacute care unit boasts a high nurse to patient ratio and we have developed Rehabilitation and Clinical Protocols based on input from various orthopedic surgeons in order to guide our staff in caring for our patients towards complete recovery. We know patients are anxious to return home, and we do everything possible to accelerate recovery.

Central Island Healthcare offers therapy services to our patients, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. Our therapy services coordinate to allow patients to return to their original level of activity. We also provide personalized treatment plans developed by our interdisciplinary team of doctors, therapists, nurses, dietitians, social workers, and case managers.

Staying warm and toasty with some 🔥🔥🔥 music from Albert Mulad and his violin! He played pieces from a variety of genres including Irish, Italian, Polka, Pop and even Disney music 🎶 We love enriching entertainment!

Balloon Volleyball was a great way to get the blood pumping on this chilly week, and we got to enjoy some karaoke. We're always up to something fun!

Salt Snowflakes were so much fun! Have you ever made them? ❄️ Draw your snowflake (or anything else), trace with glue, and then dump salt. From there take your choice of watercolor paints and have at it! 🎨

Shoot your shot! Residents shot freethrows in a competition to see who could score more. They had a blast while working on balance, and hand eye coordination.

I would like to say thank you for the excellent care my mother, Judy, received over the last 3 1/2 months. I always slept soundly knowing she was being cared for by all of you. From Joseph and Allison and all of the nurses to Chantal, Christine, Katy, Bertitz and all of the aides, everyone in PT and OT, recreation, the kitchen staff, the cleaning and laundry staff, the front desk staff- everyone treated my mom with such kindness.
