Each year, the Kansas Association of Healthcare Communicators recognizes outstanding work in healthcare communications, advertising, events, video production, and marketing through the Emerald Awards at their spring conference.

Rooks County Health Center is proud to announce that six awards were brought home this year!

RCH received a Certificate of Merit in the Video category for Matt and Holly Willis’ story, featured as part of the Relocate to Rooks campaign. Emerald Awards were also received in the following categories:

• Special Events — Talk with a Doc
• Digital Advertising — Medicare Rules of the Road
• Wildcard — 100 Days Celebration
• Total Campaign — Relocate to Rooks

To top it all off, the Relocate to Rooks campaign — a collaborative project between the Rooks County Health Center Foundation and Rural Champion — also received the conference’s overall “Best in Show” award. Rural Champion is supported through the Kansas Department of Commerce Office of Rural Prosperity.

These awards are a reflection of the incredible things happening every day at RCH and throughout Rooks County. More importantly, they represent the teamwork, creativity, and collaboration behind each project.

Thank you to everyone who played a role in bringing these projects to life. Be sure to stop by the display case in the hospital to check out the awards!

As Women’s Health Month continues on, this is your reminder to check in on your health and stay up to date on important screenings like mammograms, PAP smears, and routine exams.

Taking care of yourself isn’t always easy to prioritize, but it matters, both for you and for those who depend on you.

RCH is here to support you, including expanded women’s health services with Dr. Nicholas Raasch’s specialty clinic.

If it’s been a while, this is a great time to schedule an appointment and take that next step.

1 in 5 adults experience a mental health condition each year. That means it affects people in every community, including our own.

This Mental Health Awareness Month, RCH reminds you that mental health is just as important as physical health. That’s why we’re proud to offer access to mental health services right here in our community.

If you or someone you know could use support, help is available:

Cary Schwarz, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor
High Plains Mental Health Center
📞 785-628-2871

Taking that first step can feel like the hardest part, but you don’t have to do it alone.

A few weeks ago, members of the RCH family came together to support our friend and coworker, Nancy, by purchasing and wearing “Team Nancy” shirts following her ovarian cancer diagnosis. 💙

Ovarian cancer is often called the “silent disease” because its symptoms can be vague and easy to dismiss. Bloating, pelvic pain, feeling full quickly, and changes in bathroom habits are all signs that shouldn’t be ignored. Awareness and early detection can make a meaningful difference.

The kindness and support shown throughout our organization were a powerful reminder of the compassion that makes RCH so special. Nancy, we continue to keep you in our thoughts and are proud to stand with you every step of the way. 💙
