Extra cold winter 🥶 means an extra Dry Eye treatment! Sometimes you just need a little extra TLC ❤️ don’t be scared to come in and get an extra treatment if you are on maintenance. I needed an extra one too… we are all feeling the cold dry air! If you are doing fine right now, awesome! We are here when you need us ☺️ just don’t ignore your body and get worse!

💡A lot of Dry Eye patients aren’t lasting 6 months after their last Optilight treatment this year. That’s normal in this super dry winter 🥶 and I am having them come in a little earlier for treatment. Some patients may need one in the fall winter and spring… but contacts will be more comfortable, eyes will feel less dry irritated and tired… less redness and watery eyes… it makes a difference in patients quality of life so do what is best! 💕☺️

You have Dry Eye? Most people do! Did you know I’m from the Bay Area in Northern CA? Well I have been telling my sister to get Dry Eye treatments for years and I finally convinced her as her Dry Eye has been progressing. She has had three Lumenis Optilight treatments now with my good friend - Dr. Michael Duong at Optometric Center & Eyewear Galleria in San Ramon 🤓 He went to San Jose State with me and started the Pre-Optometry club! I just tagged along as the VP and cheered him on. My sister is already feeling improvement and can’t wait for her next treatment. End of the health care struggles have officially started. Please be kind to people when you get frustrated. Take a step back and think before you speak. Take a deep breath and realize we are not out here to get you! We are here to help you! We want everyone to see well and have great eye health! Things are expensive right now and it’s Christmas shopping time - we get it! We are also Moms and in the same boat. Do I really want to pay for new tires? Nope! But I’m not going to be mean to the guys selling me tires because I need them. It’s really upsetting to me when the patient upset is a friend of mine. You know of all people - I’m here for your best interests! Support small business and be kind. That’s so important to remember!

How do you know if you have Dry Eye? 👁️ Do your eyes get red, itchy, blurry… does your vision fluctuate? Do your eyes feel tired and you want to rub them? Do eyedrops make them better or worse? There are so many things to think about and you need a consult to really know. When I see you, I can tell you why you have Dry Eye and dive into how to treat it. Sometimes the answer is not eye drops or warm compresses.

Dry Eye discussions - I say these things every single day so I figured I just put it all out there! Dry Eye is complicated and there are so many factors… these are just some of the common things that tend to shock people 😬🤓 Why do I have Dry Eye - thyroid issue, hormones, gut health, lack of sleep, dehydration… those are the things I discovered when I started. I slept in my makeup in my 20’s and used bad products… when you add all this stuff up - it’s a recipe for Dry Eye! Now I’m smarter, made some changes and repairing the damage. Be better! 🤩 You eyes need you to focus and be comfortable so you can get through your busy day! 🤓🥳

Reassurance is the sometimes some of the best medicine. 🫶🏼 Patience is a virtue - don’t forget that! Dry Eye takes years to develop and months to treat. It’s kind of like when you gain weight when pregnant… you can’t expect to lose the weight the minute the baby is delivered! 🥸 Doctors take time reassuring your patients and help them understand the process. The studies prove it works and the results do come. Now that I have 3 years of results - I know what to expect and how to explain it. 🤓 Me: How was your Dry Eye 5 years ago? You were barely using eye drops… Ok! That’s my end goal. Let’s do this!!! Pump them up and make them feel good! I love being a cheerleader for my patients ❤️

Stay warm in this cold 🥶 weather! Get your eyes checked and make sure they are working the best they can. Today I had a patient who said I cured their headaches because they didn’t realize they needed glasses 🤓 last year. I had another patient that I have diagnosed with glaucoma in his mid 40’s. 😳 No family history and no symptoms but luckily we caught it early before it causes permanent vision loss! Come in and just let us check you 😊 - it is painless and can be so helpful to your future 🫶🏼 and Ollie is here 🐶

Clean your eyelids! 😳 Whether you wear makeup or not… you need to scrub those eyelids! Soap has surfactants and are not great for your eyelids and eyes so I recommend Optase Life sensitive eye makeup remover. Made with Hyaluronic acid, B5 and Manuka honey and only 7 safe ingredients 🥰 . The other option is Refreshing eye towelettes which I love for on the go and travel - soft and doesn’t irritate my eyes! Infused with Hyaluronic acid, Calendula and Aloe - 10 safe ingredients 🥳 and in both products one of the ingredients is just water lol 😆. When I don’t wear makeup I use Tea tree water cleansing foam in the shower. Dust allergens and Demodex mites are washed away easily! Take care of your eyes 👀 or I will lecture you - only because I care 🩷
