Between endless to-do lists, blue light overload, and “I’ll rest when I’m dead” hustle culture… our bodies are waving the white flag. 🏳️

🤔 Did you know that 1 in 13 children have a food allergy, which can cause life-threatening allergic reactions?

The Teal Pumpkin Project is a Halloween initiative to make the holiday safer for children with food allergies by promoting non-food treats. 🩵

👉By placing a teal pumpkin on your porch, you signal to trick-or-treaters that you are offering allergy-safe alternatives to candy, such as small toys, glow sticks, or stickers. The project, adopted by Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE), helps ensure that all children can enjoy Halloween safely and inclusively.

Taking Part in the Teal Pumpkin Project is easy!
1️⃣ Add your address to the Teal Pumpkin Project Map, so kids looking for non-food
treats can plan their routes.

2️⃣ Show your participation with a teal pumpkin or one of the free printable signs
available on FARE’s website.

3️⃣ On Halloween, be sure to have non-food treats ready for trick-or-treaters!

Lately, I’ve had so many moms ask me about weighted vest walks for bone density during perimenopause.

And honestly — I love that question. 🙌

Because strength and load-bearing movement are one of the best things you can do to protect your bones as you age. 🦴

But here’s the catch 👉 It’s not just adding weight that matters - it’s how your body carries it.

When you lean forward, tuck your hips, or let your core relax, that extra load shifts straight into your low back and spine instead of your glutes and legs (where it should go).

✨ So here’s what to know if you’re starting:

💚Start with a vest that’s 5–10% of your body weight (so if you’re 150 lbs, begin with 7–15 lbs).

💚Build up slowly over a few weeks - it’s about consistency, not intensity.

💚Keep your posture tall, ribs stacked over pelvis, and glutes engaged.

💚Avoid leaning forward or “power walking” with a hunch - slow and steady is key for joint safety and muscle activation.

When done right, weighted walking can support bone density, posture, and even mood - especially during the hormone shifts of perimenopause.
