Glove Cleaners got its humble beginnings in 1960 by laundering gloves and returning them to manufacturing businesses for reuse. Throughout the 1980’s, manufacturing moved predominantly to China, making goods more affordable and eliminating the need for laundering gloves. We adapted to better meet the needs of our customers by adding first aid and janitorial supplies. Glove Cleaners laundered our l
ast glove in 1994 but, by then, the name had stuck. The Talbott family retired in 2005, selling Glove Cleaners to the Trenteseaux family who continued to grow the company to serve healthcare and automotive businesses across the nation. In addition to being a dominant force in New England, we now supply a wide range of national customers including Sam’s Club, Walmart, Valvoline, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines and Penske Trucks. Glove Cleaners purchased Airwick Professional Products of Rhode Island in 2012, expanding our janitorial services to include a full line of private label cleaning chemicals as well as machines and repairs. By 2017, Glove Cleaners had added a full line of office & breakroom supplies, HACCP certified and safety supplies, footwear, packaging and landscaping tools, healthcare supplies and foodservice items. We continue to grow as an LGBTQ+ owned and operated company under the name Glove Cleaners & Safety Products, Inc. (GCSPI) out of respect for the relationships we have with our longstanding customers and the foundation this business was built on. Although we no longer “clean gloves,” we do just about everything else.
