I never planned to write a divorce workbook. I just wanted to survive.
In the sleepless nights, the whispered lies of shame ("You're now 'that' statistic"), the friends who quietly faded away, and the constant ache for my child's future... One question anchored me:
How do I honor You right here, Lord, in this broken, sin-soaked storm?
Not "How do I win?" Not "How do I make them pay?" Just… how do I walk through this looking like Jesus?
That question became my lifeline. It didn't erase the grief, fear, financial terror, or church awkwardness—but it gave me a north star. Over time, Scripture studied through tears, failures repented, and grace upon grace, a path emerged.
That path, fought for in real time, became a series of blog posts on Called2Rise, and now it's expanded into a 7-week Christian workbook: Honoring God During Divorce.
This isn't about debating if divorce is ever allowed. It assumes you're already there—papers signed or imminent, reconciliation exhausted—and you're asking the harder question: Now what? How do I represent Jesus in this?
Each week includes:
• Real, anonymized stories (mine and others')
• Scripture that meets you in the exact emotion/temptation
• Heart-level reflection questions
• Practical takeaways
• Closing prayers
We cover:
• Redefining victory when the world says "get everything you can"
• Gathering prayer warriors who speak truth, not fuel anger
• Feeling every brutal emotion without letting them rule
• Letting God be your Vindicator (no collateral damage)
• Protecting children's hearts in costly, daily choices
• Building trust in God's faithfulness one remembered act at a time
• Co-parenting as a reflection of His love, not ongoing war
Plus two appendices: "Rules of Engagement" (spiritual-warfare guardrails) and safety notes for high-conflict situations.
Divorce is a thief—it steals peace, trust, time, even parts of childhood. But it cannot steal what Christ has secured.
This workbook is for the one in the thick of it right now, or for the friend who doesn't know how to pray beyond platitudes. It's written by someone who's wept over Malachi 2:16 and Psalm 34:18 in the same breath, bitten her tongue raw, trusted God when the math failed, and seen His faithfulness even when the outcome wasn't what I begged for.
You don't have to fight without light. He sees. He knows. He carries.

You're not alone. Keep going, friend. By His grace, you can honor Him even here.
