TRAINING THIS SATURDAY 11/23. Supporting Clients Through Post-Election Challenges: Ethical Considerations. *Pay What You Can*, virtual, 1 hour. "The recent election and the events that followed have been overwhelming for many people. Clients are bringing these concerns into therapy, and clinicians may feel unsure about how to help. This pay-what-you-can workshop is designed to give therapists simple tools and guidance to support clients while following ethical principles." Two more trainings to come in January, 2hrs (pay what you can) and 3hrs (details tbd)

Designed to help clinicians gain confidence addressing these issues with empathy and professionalism while adhering to Codes of Ethics

At this time, we do not accept insurance. However, we would be happy to provide you with a superbill for you to use to pursue possible reimbursement from your insurance company.

Do whatever you need to in order to care for yourself. Take some time to allow your nervous system to recover, if only a bit. Feed yourself, drink water, get rest, take your meds, dial back the media exposure, make your therapy appointment, take a walk, make cookies for your neighbors and take care of each other. One thing at a time. Triage. If you need support, we're here.

Ethics are coming! Hosted by Univ. of Maryland School of Social Work. I'll be teaching this (popular) live, virtual session on 10/31. We will compare the OVC ethical standards for serving victims of crime with various Codes of Ethics, and work through some case examples together. Ethics isn't always the most exciting topic but I promise it will be bearable! I hope you'll join us.

Our hearts are full! 2024 FindSelf Retreat for adopted people is a wrap. Our 2nd year was even better than the 1st and we’re already planning for 2025. So much love, peace, enlightenment, joy, encouragement, laughter and liberation. See you next year!

Our hearts are broken and grieving for folks affected by Hurricane Helene, especially our fellow North Carolinians. We hosted the adoptee retreat in Asheville last year and are sad to see so much is under water. Recovery will take years. If you’d like to support relief efforts in Western NC, this is one place to start. You can also donate to the Cajun Navy and donate blood.

Hurricane Helene unleashed devastating flooding in the mountains of North Carolina. Here are ways to help local flood victims in Western North Carolina by donating relief funds or volunteering.
