Hey Friends ! I’m asking a professional favor today. As a way to continue my learning and growth as an SLP, I have been field testing new assessments. I am running out of children in my circle to test so I’m branching out. I’m currently working on the ALL (Assessment of Language and Literacy) renorming project and I am looking for a few more pre-k thru first graders (4years old to 6 years 11 months)for testing sessions on weekends. I have been able to test some friends with known speech/language disorders but would love to get more norms for “typically developing” children. However, this assessment is also good if you are suspecting an impairment and would like more information. Though it will not be scored since we are working on renorming, I have been providing a written summary of the child’s progress which is still data that can support the need for a comprehensive evaluation.

If your child or a child that you know might be willing to help me out, please message me or reach out directly if you have my info. I am hoping to wrap these up within the next few weeks.

The happy dance I’m doing after my Texas Medicaid provider enrollment application has FINALLY been approved after quitting my credentialing company (👎🏽 negative 5 stars for you) and 6 long months of correcting little tiny deficiencies that I wish they could have told me about all at once 🤦🏽‍♀️. This is a TOTAL WIN!!

Happy ‘Back To School’ to all educators and students starting today!
Try to remember that going back to school will be easy and exciting for most but difficult and terrifying for some. Over this last week, I have heard a spectrum of feelings from my school aged friends.
My hope is that everyone will pocket a bit of sunshine and compassion this week and just take it out and sprinkle it generously on anyone who needs it - make a new friend or at least be a friend to someone in need; give a compliment or even a big, “it’s going to be ok” smile to make someone feel good.

It has been so much fun watching Dynamite grow since transitioning to full time private practice in June 2022. I’m excited and grateful each time I get a new referral or inquiry, or reach a new milestone. Word of mouth has been amazing!!

I know, I know, it has been a while. First of all, I want to thank EVERYONE for all of the likes and shares here as well as just word of mouth. It is truly heartwarming to know that so many people believe in me as a person and in my dedication and skills as a therapist!! Most of you probably know me well and if you do, you know that I dream BIG! Things are moving along nicely but there is SO much more that I want to do with this project. If you’ve ever asked me a question about communication, Autism, or speech services in schools expecting a quick reply, that first minute in you likely realized the “nerd” that you were interacting with 🤪 I’m doing EXACTLY what I’m meant to do!! Now, I’m honored to share more of my brain child with you 😍

Summer has officially kicked off for most. After one week of break, I am fueled to begin longer hours at Dynamite (that is until school starts again in August).

Throughout the school year, SLPs work tirelessly to ensure our students are making adequate progress. Summer break is definitely a time to rest and recharge, but students can benefit from working on maintenance of skills during the summer. We’ve all heard the phrase “If you don’t use it, you lose it.” (aka “regression”)

If your child is in need of speech therapy, literacy support, or social skills or Executive function skills training this summer to maintain skills they have been working on in school, consider giving me a call and ask about discounts for summer maintenance of skills!!

Thank you everyone for the love and support! Many thanks as well to my Murphy, Texas community for “showing up” even with the threat of rain. For my first vendor fair as a full fledged Business Owner, I’d say that was a huge success! Dynamite STS got lots of exposure AND ideas from other clever business owners! Looking forward to a long lasting relationship with the Murphy Chamber of Commerce!

Happy weekend!
It’s so exciting to finally announce Dynamite Speech to everyone! This is truly a “labor of love”! I decided to put all of my passion for serving and empowering individuals with communication impairments into a business!!
