For an overdue update, I have relocated my practice to Texas. I still provide therapy services to 42 states (states coded blue on the map). I anticipate having a couple spots opening up this summer for new clients.

The best way to contact me is via email, or the submission page on my website, www.drmallorylamb.com. I am not particularly active on this page, as evidenced by my 3 year posting gap! I hope everyone has a lovely spring and summer.

After a busy waitlist summer, I am finally accepting new clients!

I've also changed my schedule this fall to more of a hybrid model. I'm maintaining a limited in-person caseload, with greater virtual (video) availability.

In other fun news - over the summer, PSYPACT grew to 32 states (hello CT, ID, IN, & WA). States shaded blue on this map are PSYPACT, an interstate license which I received earlier this year.

Your Anxiety Is Lying To You.

A couple tips to identify and challenge your anxious thoughts.

Would you base your decisions on advice from a liar? Anxiety acts like a filter on our cognitive lens, shaping how we view situations, ourselves, relationships, etc. If your anxiety is lying to you, it can impact your ability to set healthy boundaries, maintain balanced relationships, limit sense

Using this snow day to write a new blog post on a favorite clinical topic of mine - Health Anxiety (Illness Anxiety).

You spend hours researching your health symptoms on the internet. You check your heart rate on your smart watch frequently to make sure it’s normal. You’re tempted to buy that pulse oximeter to ease your mind. Your doctor tells you you’re healthy, but it only provides temporary relief.

Anxiety - Leaning In Is The Way Out

Wrote a quick little blog about leaning into your anxiety as a way to extinguish it - aka "exposure" - and used a hopefully relevant example of leaning into the anxiety.

"How willing are you to let anxiety narrow your life? It doesn’t mean you need to solo backpack across the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. But if your anxiety is stopping you from living a fulfilling, vibrant life, you can extinguish it by leaning in."

Anxiety Umbrella Anxiety is an umbrella term. There are several types of clinical anxiety disorders that fall under the umbrella, such as Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Social Anxiety disorder, and Panic Disorder. There is also conceptual debate about PTSD, OCD, and others as falling under the an

As we enter Thanksgiving week, why not talk about Anger Management?

Problematic anger is one of my favorite presenting concerns to treat. As a clinician, there is such gratification in quick direct skills combined with complex social learning and core belief work.

I've outlined some direct steps and skills I utilize with my patients for anger management.

When clients come to me for Anger Management, it is often because their anger has become uncontrollable, and resulted in some negative action with consequences. This action may or may not be severe. But the uncontrolled emotion of anger has led to an action - which is aggression. Anger is an emot

The year of 2020 itself may be enough to drive anyone to seek therapy. If you have been contemplating therapy, I've made a short list of indicators that it might be time to seek help.

Maybe you’ve been considering going to therapy for a while. Or maybe the year of 2020 itself has been a catalyst to seek therapy. Reaching out to a psychologist or therapist takes courage. And if you’re second guessing if now is the right time, I’ve briefly mapped out a few indicators to help ...

Today feels like the millionth Monday of Covid - virtual work and classrooms, coming off another weekend spend with limited and/or modified social events. While Covid and related restrictions continue, our nation's mental health is notably suffering. And reduced access to one of our most protective coping resources, social support, is complicating the problem.

I came across this interesting NPR article about a month after it's release. As an interpersonal psychotherapy provider (IPT), it's no surprise the following quote stood out to me:

"In virtually every wide-scale disaster I studied, there is a sense of human resilience — people come together... Interpersonal support is the single best predictor of human resilience. This disaster undermines our single most important protective factor."

Mental health effects of the COVID-19 pandemic have been profound, researchers find. Nearly 25% of Americans are depressed, particularly those who have low incomes and have lost a job or a loved one.
