This patient presented to our office with a dense, chronic vitreous hemorrhage they had for more than a year (inset shows ultrasound of the affected eye). A vitrectomy surgery was performed, and our patient has now regained vision (post-vitrectomy image shown).

"Superior retinal specialist. I required emergency treatment for a torn retina. Amira set everything up very quickly and entered my information. Olivia prepped me with professional skill. I was very nervous and scared. Doctor Elshatory answered all my questions in a way that was easy for me to understand and eased my mind. He explained the procedure he was about to perform, then went right to work on my eye. Doctor Elshatory is very gentle with his hands and it was virtually a painless procedure with a minimum amount of discomfort. With the newest state-of-the-art equipment and an exceptionally clean environment, I was very impressed. As a Military Veteran I recognize professionalism when I see it, and this place is top notch. Also, this facility is easy to find, plenty of free parking close to the building, everything is on the ground floor. Vision tip of the day: At ERA, we do ultrasounds of the eye when a view to the retina cannot be obtained. In this case, ultrasound revealed blood in the eye (vitreous hemorrhage), and traction causing a localized retinal detachment. After surgery, the view to the retina cleared and a photo was obtained.
