Human trafficking is a human rights issue!

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. fought for a world where every person’s dignity, freedom, and humanity were protected.
Today, those same principles call us to confront human trafficking — a violation of basic human rights that strips individuals of autonomy, safety, and freedom through force, fraud, and coercion.

At The Turning Point, we believe honoring Dr. King’s legacy means standing against modern forms of injustice, educating our community, and supporting survivors with dignity and compassion.

Human rights are not optional.
Freedom is not conditional.
Justice requires action.

Stalking isn’t about romance — it’s about control!

Stalking is a pattern of repeated, unwanted behaviors that cause fear, emotional distress, or disruption to someone’s life.
It can include:
• Repeated unwanted calls or messages
• Showing up uninvited
• Monitoring someone’s location or online activity
• Ignoring clear boundaries

Stalking often escalates over time — which is why early awareness is critical. At The Turning Point, we work to educate our community, support survivors, and prevent harm before it escalates.

At The Turning Point, our mission to prevent violence and support survivors is deeply rooted in these same values — standing against injustice and working toward a safer, more compassionate community.

If something feels off — it probably is.

Survivors of human trafficking and stalking often say they noticed warning signs early — but doubted themselves or felt pressure to ignore what they were feeling.

Your instincts are not random. They are your mind and body recognizing patterns meant to keep you safe.

At The Turning Point, we believe prevention starts with trusting yourself and knowing you deserve support — even when you don’t have all the answers yet.

🚩 Warning signs are often subtle — but patterns matter!
Human trafficking and stalking don’t always look extreme at first. Often, they begin with behaviors that are dismissed or normalized.

🚩 Sudden changes in behavior
🚩 Someone monitoring communication or location
🚩 Repeated unwanted contact
🚩 Fear, anxiety, or loss of independence

Recognizing these signs early can prevent escalation and save lives. At The Turning Point, education is a key part of prevention — because informed communities protect one another. Save this post. Share it with someone who needs to know.

🚫 Myth: Human trafficking always involves kidnapping.

✅ Fact: Most human trafficking cases involve manipulation, grooming, and coercion—often by someone the victim already knows.

At The Turning Point, we know that education is prevention. When communities understand what trafficking really looks like, we can intervene earlier and protect lives.
