A major study published in The Lancet eClinicalMedicine found that hyperbaric oxygen therapy delivers long-lasting relief for patients suffering severe late effects of pelvic radiation.

Symptoms like incontinence, bleeding, and chronic pain.

Patients who completed a standard HBOT course (90 minutes, 30-40 sessions) experienced dramatic improvement that held steady for at least five years. Many went from planning life around bathroom access to returning to fully normal daily activity.

Studies like this underscore the real potential to restore quality of life after cancer treatment.

Hyperbaric oxygen treatment provides long-term relief for patients suffering from late radiation-induced injuries after treatment of cancer in the lower abdominal area.

In a large-scale study that analyzed over 660,000 wounds…

HBOT offered a consistent healing rate of about 75%. A separate study focused on diabetic foot ulcers found that HBOT improved healing rates from 56% to 60% overall and up to 75% for patients completing all their prescribed treatments.

By increasing oxygen absorption in the body, this can aid in the repair of brain tissue damaged by COVID-19.

HBOT has also been shown to trigger neuroplasticity (the brain’s ability to heal itself), which can significantly reduce long COVID symptoms.

Study Results ➡️

In one study, 31 patients (having originally completed 40 sessions of HBOT the year prior at Aviv Clinics) filled out a series of questionnaires about quality of life, quality of sleep, and psychiatric and pain symptoms.

Patients were treated with hyperoxic-hypoxic paradox (HHP), an HBOT protocol that exposes the patient to elevated atmospheric pressure (compression/decompression rate of 1.0 m/min) and fluctuating oxygen levels (100% oxygen for 90 minutes with intermittent breaks of medical-grade air with normal 21% oxygen levels).

Based on the results, HBOT was found to be associated with persistent improvements in quality of life, quality of sleep, psychiatric and pain symptoms.

While is a common cancer treatment, it can lead to unintended damage in healthy tissues. This is where HBOT steps in, mitigating these effects and speeding up recovery.

Radiation impairs blood flow, leading to tissue injury that may manifest months or even years later, a long-term side effect known as delayed radiation injury.

Common symptoms include chronic pain, fibrosis (tissue thickening and scarring), impaired wound healing, skin changes, and dysfunction of affected organs.

**How does help? 🤔

HBOT counteracts these effects by increasing the number of blood vessels in radiated tissues. This enhances blood circulation and potentially restores damaged tissues to their pre-radiation state.

3 ways HBOT supports sports injury healing…

1️⃣ Faster healing:
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy reduces inflammation, a major culprit of delayed recovery. Injuries like sprained ligaments, torn muscles, and stress fractures benefit from the increased blood flow and oxygen supply.

2️⃣ Less Muscle Soreness:
Rigorous training and competition take a toll on your muscles. HBOT provides the oxygen needed to repair microscopic tears and reduce delayed-onset muscle soreness. This helps you bounce back faster after an intense game or workout.

3️⃣ Chronic Pain Management:
HBOT promotes better circulation, reduces inflammation and detoxes the lactic acid from muscles to relieve symptoms of chronic pain or lingering injuries.

Last year, we shared this sweet moment of Jennifer Brown and her son Hayes, a brave 6-year-old soccer player ⚽️

Hayes was recovering from a broken arm and handled it like a champ, cozy in the chamber watching his favorite shows, while mom checked in on him anytime.

We’re still cheering for you, Hayes! Hope you’re back out there scoring goals 🙌

A traumatic brain injury (TBI) typically arises from a sudden impact or jolt to the head, often resulting from falls, vehicle accidents, sports injuries, or violent assaults.

The severity of a TBI can range from mild, such as concussions, to severe brain damage. We use HBOT for minor TBI to treat symptoms of headaches, dizziness, confusion, and temporary loss of consciousness.

HBOT provides a non-invasive option that can complement traditional therapies, offering hope and an improved quality of life for patients with traumatic brain injuries.

In a University of Cambridge study conducted over a decade, patients with symptomatic brain radiation necrosis received HBOT with encouraging results.

Twelve out of 13 patients reported clinical improvement, and half showed radiological improvements or stability.

This study highlights HBOT’s potential for reducing brain RN symptoms and stabilizing the condition.

Explore how HBOT works and its potential benefits for those suffering from radiation-induced brain injuries.

One notable study investigated the effects of HBOT on patients who had recently had a .

An article published in the Aesthetic Surgery Journal looked at 20 female patients who had facelifts, 9 of whom underwent HBOT treatments.

When compared with the control group, the patients who did HBOT experienced notable cosmetic surgery recovery improvements.

Their wound healing processes took an average of 13.3 days, while those in the control had an average healing time of 36.9 days.

The *actually helpful* advice I wish someone had given me to prepare for my HBOT treatment…

1️⃣ Your ears will pop at the beginning and end, so clear your ears before you feel discomfort AND drink plenty of water before to lessen the discomfort

2️⃣ You can’t bring your phone in the chamber, so ask what streaming services they have, so you can come prepared with a show in mind

3️⃣ Bring socks to wear because your blood is redirected toward healing tissues, which can make your hands and feet cold
