If you’re a pediatric therapist, you know how tricky this can be sometimes 🤪 Parents! If you notice your baby doing any type of crawl that looks asymmetrical or atypical like the one above… odds are, there may be a muscle imbalance that needs to be addressed.
What’s going on in this video?
↗️ Baby has tightness on the RIGHT side of his body. The tightness is in his neck, shoulder, trunk, foot, leg… pretty much his whole body causing this asymmetrical crawling pattern.
↗️ Baby is leading only with his right side and only sits in one direction… this means he’s probably got some weakness on the left side of his body as well. This muscle imbalance can lead to impairments in core strength, balance, posture, and more if not addressed.
The longer a baby crawls like this, the harder it is to break. If you notice anything out of the ordinary, reach out to a pediatric therapist and get your baby hands and knees crawling like a pro!
