Anna often dreamed of returning to her homeland of Germany. The Good Tree team saw how deeply she was connected to her German roots, so they decided to bring a piece of Germany to her. They prepared goulash and other traditional German dishes, creating a festive atmosphere filled with warmth and nostalgia. Residents and staff gathered to celebrate Anna’s heritage, sharing stories and learning more about German customs.

Today was this couple’s 75 wedding anniversary! She is wearing her hat and gloves from her wedding day and she still has the shoes she wore that day!! Congratulations to these two lovebirds!!

Last week, our Magnolia Trails communities transformed the longest day of the year into a truly meaningful occasion.

With barbeques, music, memory walks, and vibrant purple celebrations, every moment paid tribute to those impacted by Alzheimer’s and highlighted the strength of human connection.

Our resident spotlight this month is this lovely couple! They have been married for 75 years on June 26th! They have three children, seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. They are much loved here at the Waterford at Plano!

Autumn Glen celebrated the 70th wedding anniversary of Bill and Mary Lou this week. Surrounded by friends and family, the couple reflected on decades of memories through cherished photos and enjoyed a celebratory cake and a beautiful flower arrangement to honor the occasion. It was a big week for Billy, a resident of The Waterford at Mesquite. In honor of Father’s Day, the local mayor visited the community to recognize Billy as the oldest father living in Mesquite! Just a few days later, Billy celebrated his 100th birthday surrounded by family and friends. The celebration was filled with laughter and plenty of birthday cake. Billy’s milestone serves as an inspiration to everyone in the community.

Today we are celebrating The Longest Day! We had a purple party with live music, root beer floats and a bake sale. Today we outshine the darkness of Alzheimer’s! Thank you to Holy Savior Hospice for providing the yummy floats and to Anna in our kitchen for the delicious cookies!!

Our Kitchen Staff is the best! They made Texas Sheetcake and celebrated with pink for one of our residents being five years breast cancer free!! Ring the Bell!!

Our Father’s Day celebration today was amazing! The men enjoyed it so much. They enjoyed sliders, beef jerky, beer and potatoe chips served in cigar boxes! Diane’s attention to detail really makes our celebrations special.

John, a Magnolia Trails resident at Georgetowne Place, grew up on a farm and spent his childhood driving tractors and milking cows. He often shared these fond memories, so the team knew exactly what would make the perfect Tree of Dreams by bringing him back to the farm! With his daughter and great-grandson in tow, John was thrilled to see how things have changed and deeply grateful for the experience. Great job, team!

The Waterford at Round Rock worked with resident Becky’s daughter to give her the surprise of a lifetime by restoring their family car, a 1965 Ford Mustang. Filled with memories of family vacations and drives with her late husband, Becky’s eyes filled with tears. The moment she saw the fully restored Mustang, she was overcome with emotion and gratitude. What a beautiful gift and a reminder of cherished memories!
