"As the beginning of the school year approaches for many of us, there may be a unique sense of dread some of us are working through. Living through crises means that we exist in a state of flux–in a state that demands that our energy goes towards needs-meeting, healing, and enacting change. Spaces that might feel structured or stagnant in a way that does not align with this reality, such as the classroom or campus bubble, can lead to feelings of dissonance. A very important part of healing through crisis for many of us is to re-frame the experience of learning not as the retention of information, but of the process of creation and re-creation of that transcends the structure and stagnance of school."

Have your eating disorder symptoms changed over time? It's more common than you think. 🧐

Many people experience shifts between restriction, bingeing, purging, or rigid food rules during the course of illness or recovery. This isn’t a sign of confusion or inconsistency; it’s a known pattern supported by the transdiagnostic theory of eating disorders.

Treatment that targets the underlying drivers — like body image distress, perfectionism, and emotional avoidance — is more effective and sustainable for those struggling with disordered eating.

Whether or not your current symptoms “check all the boxes” for diagnosis, your experience is valid and deserving of informed, compassionate care.
