Board certified in neurological surgery, he has built his stellar reputation in neurosurgery on the belief that his patients come first. Dr. Cattorini graduated valedictorian and attended Duke University with a B.S. He received his Masters of Science degree from Columbia University. After completing his medical degree at Dartmouth College, he attended Yale University for an internship in general surgery. He completed a neurosurgical residency at Tulane University in 1997. In the past year, Dr. Cattorini moved his practice to Legacy Medical Village to work with fellow family medicine and internal medicine physicians to provide excellence in outpatient health care in a multidisciplinary community setting. He is also the clinical director of neurosurgery and director for the Traumatic Brain Injury Program at Medical Center of Plano, where he is involved in developing critical care treatment protocols for cerebral hypothermia, cerebral intracranial hemorrhage, and traumatic brain contusions. Dr. Cattorini operates in all aspects of neurosurgery, including cervical, thoracic and lumbar spinal surgery with and without instrumentation; minimally invasive spinal surgery; artificial cervical disc surgery; cranial surgery; placement of Gliadel chemotherapy wafers for primary brain tumors; cancer pain management; neurosurgical trauma; vascular and aneurysm surgery; peripheral nerve surgery involving ulnar and carpal tunnel decompression, stereotactic radiosurgery; and frameless stereotactic surgery. He also has a special interest in Brainsuite MRI technology. Dr. Cattorini is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, American Medical Association, Congress of Neurological Surgery, and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Neurological Surgery.
