"...sometimes Black women use disordered eating as an 'assimilation strategy.'"

“Safety and survival can only come when we shrink ourselves before people tell us we’re too much...We have to make ourselves literally and figuratively smaller in a room when we’re already hyper visible, in situations where we are already deemed to be a threat.”

Black women in the field are working to disrupt eating disorder stereotypes, which create a vicious cycle that prevents people of color from getting diagnoses and treatment.

The Work

I specialize in working with individuals who face a variety of issues ranging from trauma, anxiety, depression, and unhealthy family dynamics, to grief and loss. Together, we discover how past experiences have shaped us and how we can move forward with greater clarity and purpose.
