The truth to the filler saga is somewhere right in the middle, meaning that a small amount of filler probably stays behind from each injection, as it integrates with your native surrounding hyaluronic acid and soft tissues.

But when it is injected incorrectly, i.e. wrong filler for the anatomical space or injected too superficially, you are likely to see it puff up like a water balloon and stay that way potentially for years.

Before we do surgery, we try to eliminate bad filler remnants. In this case, we dissolved the extra puffiness and then proceeded with a transconjunctival lower . We also performed a right to improve brow symmetry and upper blepharoplasty.

Now less than 3 months out, we are working on decreasing skin hyperpigmentation on the lower and will plan for to polish the skin πŸͺ„

A few years ago, this patient had had upper and lower eyelid surgery done by an outside plastic surgeon but still experienced residual puffiness in his eyelids. Over time, the extra skin became worse and crowded the eye space.

We performed a revision upper and lower to relieve the heaviness from the redundant skin. Since he’d already had fat removed from his first lower we focused on smoothing the lower lid contour by carefully excising extra skin.

Revisions are always tricky because the anatomy has been altered once already. While this may limit our results, we feel we achieved a lot of improvement and will likely perform skin resurfacing in the future to enhance the results even more 🌟

there will never be enough words or photos to capture the beauty of a city that celebrates the individual, the hustle, the dream, the promise for something more.

my memory 24 years ago today is that of a high school student sitting in AP biology just one year shy of attending Columbia University. nothing can erase from my mind the devastation that unfairly chose friends, classmates, relatives, neighbors; the plumes of smoke I could see from our house in NJ; and the foreboding of what was to come.

but the greatest city in the world doesn’t stay down; she rebuilds stronger and more united than ever. we will NEVER forget. πŸ—½ 🍎
