In remembrance of Dr. Melinda Spooner, here are the sincere words spoken by her sister Ms. Lisa Spooner
-------------------------
Dr. Melinda Spooner transitioned from Earthly life to Heaven's Gates on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, after a five-year battle with breast cancer which she fought like the Warrior Queen that she is.
Mother, Daughter, Sister, Aunt/Mother, Great-Aunt, Niece, Cousin, Friend, Physician ... with a quirky sense of humor because "sarcasm is the way I hug". She brought so many lives into this world as an OB/Gyn who continued to practice after double-mastectomy and countless rounds of chemo; all while raising her pride and joy, Jordan Analise Evans, and being present for those who needed her for as long as she could. Dr. Spooner retired from practice in July 2020 --still serving her patients after Covid-19 first made its presence known.
The depth of our loss, as a family, is unfathomable; we are doing our best minute-by-minute to navigate uncharted waters ... and support Linda's legacy, Jordan --as she prepares to embark on her journey as a nursing student at Prairieview A&M University-- with each stroke of our oars.
We are in a "holding pattern", as the spread of Covid-19 Delta continues ... plans to celebrate Linda's life, which may include Top Shelf Margaritas on the Rocks with Salt (or Berry flavored Sugar-Free Lipton Green Tea), as well as some of her other favorites, details will be shared when we know what is the safest way to celebrate the constellation being brightened by her Supernova.
We feel immeasurable gratitude for Alicia McDonald, Dorothy Jones, Dr. Jenelle Watts, and Pamela Brown, among countless others who have prayed, sent good vibes, and lifted her up ... each of whom has shown up and supported Linda during this incredibly challenging and rocky path on her life's journey. She is, now, at peace.
If you feel so inclined --have a good steak, lobster tail, sushi, a nice Malbec ... and salute the beauty of her life.
