DFW Pediatric Endocrinology

DFW Pediatric Endocrinology Welcome to DFW Pediatric Endocrinology! We see patients from infancy to teenagers and young adults.

I am dr. Anca Pamfil, a dedicated Pediatric Endocrinologist committed to providing exceptional, personalized, unrushed and affordable care for children with endocrine disorders. DFW Pediatric Endocrinology is a direct specialty care pediatric endocrine clinic, born from a desire to bring back the traditional personalized model of medical care and prioritize the physician-patient relationship versus administrative tasks. As a parent and endocrine patient herself, Dr. Pamfil understands that doctor visits are often stressful for both patients and their families, and even more so in the pediatric population. Children are not smaller adults and they require tailored endocrine care, not just from a medical perspective, but also from a psychological one. Dr. Pamfil is therefore committed to bring back the traditional way of practicing medicine, where one should never feel rushed or unheard, and patients should never leave her office without all of their concerns and questions being addressed. Using a patient-centered, evidence-based approach to care , we offer specialized endocrine medical expertise tailored to your child needs, while prioritizing preventive care, wellness education and lifestyle changes, and empowering parents and children along the way. We address a multitude of pediatric endocrine disorders including: growth, puberty, thyroid and menstrual conditions and have a personalized approach to health and wellness. In our clinic, you will find a warm welcoming environment where compassionate, individualized, unrushed and evidence-based pediatric endocrine care is at the heart of everything we do.

A meaningful day to reflect on purpose, gratitude, and the privilege of caring for children and families. Grateful for this work and the people who make it meaningful 💝

Children grow at different tempos — and that’s normal.
👯‍♀️Girls typically enter puberty earlier, so they hit their peak height velocity sooner and finish growing earlier.
👦Boys start later, peak later, and finish later.
This difference explains why girls may be taller in middle school, while boys often catch up in high school.

✅Understanding these timelines helps parents avoid unnecessary worry and gives kids room to grow on their own biological schedule.

Save this for later and share with other parents who might find it helpful. 💙

Many parents believe kids grow until their early 20s — but height growth actually slows and stops much earlier.

Here’s what most families don’t know:
👧 Girls are usually done growing in height by ~15–16
👦 Boys are usually done growing in height by ~16–17

Growth after that is mostly bone density + muscle, not height.

If you’re wondering about early bloomers, late bloomers, or how to tell if your child is still growing — you’re not alone. I see these questions every week in clinic.

Save this for later and share with another parent 💙

💙 One of my favorite patients to see in clinic: children born with congenital hypothyroidism

• Being born with hypothyroidism does not mean lifelong weight gain
• Early diagnosis and proper treatment help keep thyroid levels right where they should be
• Healthy thyroid levels support normal growth and metabolism
• Weight changes later on are rarely caused by congenital hypothyroidism itself
• Ongoing follow-up and dose adjustments really matter

✨ Well-treated congenital hypothyroidism ≠ lifelong weight problems

🌟 Exciting News! 🌟

Today I had the honor to participate both as a parent, but also as a sponsor, at the Master Chang’s Martial Arts Taekwondo Belt Testing event ! Martial arts isn't just about earning belts; it's about instilling discipline, confidence, and respect in our kids. Taekwondo, along with other martial arts and sports, play a crucial role in the harmonious growth of children, promoting physical health, mental resilience, and social skills.

As a pediatric endocrinologist and owner of DFW Pediatric Endocrinology, I understand the importance of a well-rounded approach to health, and engaging in sports is essential for our children's development!

Let's support our young athletes in their journey! 🧒👦👧🥋💪👩🏻‍⚕️🫶🌈

🌿🌞 Embrace the Great Outdoors for Healthy Kids! 🌞🌿

Hey Dallas Fort Worth families! As a pediatric endocrinologist, I can't emphasize enough the importance of instilling healthy habits in our little ones from an early age. One of the best ways to do this? Getting outside and enjoying nature!

🏞️ Whether it’s a family hike in the parks or a picnic at the lake, outdoor activities promote physical health, boost mood, and foster connections with nature. Here are some tips to encourage a love for nature and healthy habits:

1️⃣ Explore Together: Go for nature walks and talk about the plants and animals you see!
2️⃣ Stay Active: Play games like tag, frisbee, or soccer at your local park.
3️⃣ Healthy Snacks: Pack nutritious snacks for your outdoor adventures.
4️⃣ Limit Screen Time: Encourage more time outside instead of indoor screens.

Let's make outdoor fun a family tradition! Share your favorite outdoor activity in the comments!
