This is the face of a happy camper!

it's my Friday and my clinical transition unit class has been such a breath of fresh air.

So far the start of 3rd year has been GRRRREAT!! (Spoken in my Tony the Tiger 🐅 voice). This year is all about focusing on my prep for USMLE Step 1, starting my research project, and transitioning into my clinicals.

My current class focusing more on the behavioral and social sciences and teaching me how to become a "clinical provider" which in my case means transitioning from an NP to a MD😊!

We are learning about nutrition, end of life care, behavioral disorders, infectious disease, and a bunch of other topics.

Nice change from the traditional core sciences!

Anyway just posting an update for anyone who cares 😊.

As I conclude the end of this semester, I realize that I have so much to be thankful for.

I made it through another rigorous year of medical school. No one can prepare you for the amount of material you are required to learn in such a short time period.

Here's to the end of 2nd year and the start of 3rd year Jan 2026!

Now if you excuse me, I have work to do!

Long weekend of study behind me and now it's time to get back to the grind 😉.

Despite it all I still managed to get in some self care and take a break.

Went to the movies, took time to relax and watch some sports and sat outside and enjoyed the weather.

Sometimes it can be hard to find time in between study and work but it's important.

Hope you made time for yourself this weekend.

My journey on this path from DNP to MD is not easy.

It's is through patience, strength, resilience and support from family that I have made it to the end of my 2nd year.

When I started this journey I knew there would be sacrifices and a lot of hard work and through all of it I have shown my ability to withstand.

I am living proof that if you want something and you work hard enough you can see your dreams become reality.

This is for all my RNs, NPs and other healthcare care professionals trying or considering making the leap into medicine. I'm here for you🤗.

You should know that you are not the first and won't be the last but you have to take the first step or you will never know what can be.

Happy to be finishing my 2nd year!

Looking forward to year 3🤪....still a long way to go🤯 but best rule of 👍 thumb is to take it one day at a time, one block at a time, one exam at a time, take a deep breath, keep your head up and keep grinding!!

Looks like another great day of studying!

A day in the life of a non-traditional medical student is always busy when you're juggling work, planning conferences, attending board meetings, and studying, life can get hectic💯!!!

But a little bit of craziness 🤪 never stops me from getting stuff done....so I'm about to dig deep and make this happen!
