Divorce: it's a process no family imagines they will have to face, though for some it's the best course of action. Bare in mind, regardless of whether this is the best decision for you and your family or not, it will still be an emotionally taxing journey, especially for your children if you have any. It's easy to want to just rush blindly through the process and avoid feeling the heavy feelings of frustration and grief from losing a relationship and a person you care about. But there are ways you can navigate divorce without it being such a traumatic event in your family's lives.
#1 Leave your children out of conflict. They are just children of course and shouldn't have to carry the emotional burden of having to choose between parents that are both loved dearly and equally. #2 Communication is Golden. It's important to talk about your triggers and work through your relationship issues. #3 Take your time. Don't rush into all the legal processes until after you've sought help from a professional such as a couples therapist if things are still not working out in the relationship.
