In the midst of violence and instability in Haiti, Dr Moise, our chief physician, provides timely basic, advanced, and trauma life support training to nurses and doctors in some of Haiti’s most rural hospitals. Her courage and hope is a beacon of light for a country in turmoil.

With help from Primary Care Haiti and other partners, the University of the State of Haiti (UEH) and Haiti’s national EMS Agency trained 131 UEH students in first aid and first aid in teams in Les Cayes in the south of Haiti. We also provided continued education training in CPR for nurses in Les Cayes. This training will better prepare communities for emergencies and natural disasters. Thank you to all the volunteers, staff and trainees who participated!

Dr. Paul Farmer, the tireless advocate for Haitians and global health crusader who devoted his life to delivering healthcare to millions of people on four continents, died Monday in Rwanda, his organization Partners in Health confirmed. He was 62.
