Dr. Ahmed had dedicated his life to improving healthcare. He has traveled the world in pursuit of his clinical career, starting with medical school in Sudan, graduate medical education in Saudi Arabia, followed by pediatrics specialization in both Ireland and Egypt. Dr. Ahmed is also a prolific researcher in the field of pediatric medicine, having published articles on the care of kawasaki syndrome, cerebral palsy, diabetes, and refeeding syndrome in children. Dr. Ahmed is a hard-working physician with the heart of a poet who has improved the lives of many. Our heartfelt appreciation goes out to Dr. Ahmed, and thank you to ALL the doctors!

Happy St Patrick's Day! 🍀

The moral of St. Patrick's life is one of resilience, forgiveness, and purpose. Despite being enslaved and suffering hardship, he returned to Ireland not for revenge, but to spread love, faith, and unity. His story teaches the power of second chances, the importance of using hardship for good, and how one can make a positive impact through compassion and service.

St. Patrick was a 5th-century Christian missionary and the patron saint of Ireland. Born in Britain to a Roman family, he was kidnapped by Irish raiders at 16 and enslaved in Ireland. After six years, he escaped, returned home, and eventually became a priest. He later went back to Ireland to spread Christianity, using the shamrock to explain the Holy Trinity. He died on March 17th, which became the feast day in his honor.

What began as a religious holiday has evolved into a celebration of Irish culture worldwide, with parades, wearing green, and other festivities.

The truth is that medicine is a business. Despite the incredible dedication of most physicians, those who invested years of training and $200-400K of student loans are seeking a return on their investment.

Due to poor Medicaid reimbursement rates and the prioritizing of "sick-care"/procedures rather than healthcare/counseling leaves pediatricians and other P*Ps struggling financially.
Yes, many doctors struggle financially. For pediatricians, the margins are razor thin and steadily increasing, while overhead creeps upward.

Those of us in pediatrics should know this getting in, with eyes wide open. Pediatricians dedicate their lives for the honor of caring for the kids, but they still deserve a wage comperable to other physicians.
