Friday Shoe Game Showdown! This is actually round 3 but I didn’t document the first 2 rounds. Today we have Dylan’s brightly colored Nike Vapormax (Pic 1) going up against reigning champ, KZ’s Nike Dunks (Pic 2) with, what is that? Velvet? Love those thick laces too...it’s a great touch. Dylan has been one of our PT techs for years and we know he’s got a strong shoe game which makes these Friday match ups so fun. What’s your vote? And how come nobody cared so much for my Hoka’s? I mean, I wasn’t even considered😂

Congratulations Eric on your PT graduation day!!🎉 This hard working BSO canine officer underwent a complicated surgery that required 9 months of pre and post op therapy in order to return to full duty. Tomorrow he puts on his uniform and heads back out to protect and serve along with his dog Mako. Like the sign says, we will miss him but we never want to see him in the clinic again! 😉

Blood Flow Restriction Training complete! Setting it up on myself was only possible with the help of my lab assistant (aka, our virtual learning-at-home senior in her pink fluffy robe, I mean lab coat 🤪). I used the device on my left limbs (2 separate sessions) and performed about 10 minutes of light resistance or body weight strength exercises bilaterally. After each session it felt like my left side had a full, fatiguing workout compared to my right side. Which is what it’s supposed to do! BFR allows people to get the benefits towards muscle growth while exercising at lower loads/intensities which is especially helpful in the rehab setting where patients are experiencing pain or are under post operative restrictions. Get ready for the SQUEEZE people!!!

We are so very happy to say goodbye to 2020! Treating patients effectively and safely this past year has been a challenge but, with everyone’s cooperation and efforts, we are making it work. Looking forward to a healthy New Year... and maybe even seeing our patient’s smiling faces again.
