📅 Today Is: World Cancer Day 🎗️
World Cancer Day is a global moment to raise awareness, honor lives impacted by cancer, and recommit to prevention, early detection, care, and support for all.
✨ Origin & Purpose
Observed every year on February 4, World Cancer Day reminds us that cancer is not just a health issue — it is a human issue affecting families, caregivers, and communities worldwide.
🌍 2026 Theme: United by Unique
This year’s theme recognizes that every cancer journey is different, yet we are united in reducing its impact. It calls on us to see the person, not just the disease, promote inclusive, patient-centered care, and move from awareness to meaningful action.
🖤 Why It Matters to the Black Community
Black communities continue to face higher cancer mortality rates, later diagnoses, and unequal access to quality care. Community-based organizations play a critical role in closing these gaps through education, advocacy, and culturally responsive support.
🌍 Why This Day Matters to SBC
At Support Black Charities, we uplift Black-led organizations advancing health equity, cancer awareness, patient advocacy, and community-based care. Visibility matters — because access to the right support can change outcomes.
🙌🏾 Let’s Take Action
Black-led organizations are at the forefront of providing education, healthcare resources, research, and support to those affected by cancer. Please consider supporting these incredible organizations making a difference:

**These organizations are included because they are listed on our online directory.
