Just a quick update:

I went to the doctor yesterday. I will continue therapy. No longer needing to be in a brace 24/7. I will wear my compression brace from time to time when swollen.
I only have 2lbs of thumb pressure (super weak) and 20 lbs of hand pressure (again super weak). Still experiencing nerve damage which can last a while. I will see my doctor again in 6 weeks.

I’m getting my stitches out today! The surgery went as planned.
Currently my thumb is black/blue and swollen. I have to keep it in a brace 24/7 for the next several months except when I go to therapy.
I can’t hold anything more than 1lb. Learning how to use my other digits to button my clothes and grabbing small items.
Having a portable fan is a plus in the summer heat and having cow bell to clap for all my kids activities has been a bonus!!!!
My kids have really stepped up. Folding clothes, washing dishes and daily house chores.
My husband has been a true sweetheart with always saying “relax I got this”
Road to recovery will take a hot minute… but I have the best little helpers!

My ligament in my left thumb is completely torn! Surgery is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon.
Generally speaking I will be out for 3-6 months. 6months will be a complete recovery to go back to work!

Dr will put a small anchor into the thumb to attach the ligament.
Occupational therapy will start in the few weeks!

Just a quick update. All massage appointments will be canceled. I injured my left thumb several weeks. 2 X-rays not broken. I had a MRI yesterday. Waiting on my results.
I should know by Tuesday what’s going on.

I have wearing a splint since the injury happened no relief… I think I have torn a ligament or tendon. I will keep you posted as soon as I start taking clients again.

Hopefully this injury will heal on its own without surgery.

Prayer warriors please!!!! Today is my mom’s first MRI since her treatment. We will meet with the neurologist and the oncologist after her MRI. Overall my mom feels pretty positive on her recovery. She doesn’t have the headaches or wobbly walk like she did before her surgery. Her speech is clear and she knows all of her surroundings.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my clients, friends and family! Thank you for being so patient with me.
Update on my mom: she recently finished with her chemo and radiation treatments. Her energy levels are starting to return but not in full swing yet. She has a follow up MRI in December and several more dr appts in December.
My plan is to return to work in January after the holidays.
Keep on saying your prayers for a full recovery!!!

The past few months have been a roller coaster. If you have messaged me and I haven’t responded. I will get with you as soon as my schedule is eased.
My mom has two more weeks of radiation. Traveling to Houma 5 days a week. Very thankful for the volunteers that have helped me out so I don’t have to go everyday. But overall it has been very stressful. Remaining positive that her next MRI comes back negative. Keep saying y’all prayers!!! Glioblastoma brain cancer is very aggressive! There is no true cure.
Prayers, positive attitudes, and hope is all we can really do.

When my mom called me a few weeks ago, saying something is not right and she felt like she was going downhill real fast. I immediately went into action! Got her to the ER and she was rushed to New Orleans. A brain tumor a size of lime was taking over her life!!!
The neurologist team and oncologist team was able to remove it! Her life was thankfully saved!
We will meet with the pathologist and radiologist team, to discuss type of tumor and future treatment.
I will let you all know when I will start taking clients again. It might be a few months!
Please keep us in your prayers as her healing journey begins!
