💪 Consider Physical Therapy (PT) if waiting looks like:
-Difficulty staying seated or standing in line
-Frequent slouching, leaning, or falling out of position
-Complaints of fatigue during circle time or class
-Constant movement due to poor postural endurance
-Trouble with body awareness (bumping into peers while “waiting”)
👉 Waiting requires core strength, balance, and motor control. If holding a position is physically hard, waiting will be hard.
🧠 Consider Occupational Therapy (OT) if waiting looks like:
-Meltdowns when asked to wait
-Difficulty with impulse control
-Sensory-seeking behaviors (touching everything, excessive
movement)
-Trouble keeping hands to self
-Inability to tolerate delayed gratification
👉 Waiting requires sensory regulation and emotional control. If the nervous system feels overwhelmed, waiting can feel impossible.
