One of the questions often asked when it comes to pediatric care is 'Why does a baby that's only been around a few months need a chiropractor '?

The answer is: being born is hard work! Whether a baby is born cesarian or vaginally, their bodies endure a lot of strain. This strain can cause misalignment of the spine and dysfunction of the nervous system. The nervous system is a key component in a newborn and child's growth and development. Chiropractic care can help reduce misalignment and tension that your child still may be carrying after birth.

Chiropractic care for infants and children looks different from how adults are treated. There is no twisting or thrusting or loud popping sounds during treatment. A gentle approach is taken where we fully assess the child's range of motion to help identify where they may be restricted or carrying tension.

There are two techniques our Dr uses when treating babies and small children:
1. A sustained hold on the restricted joint
2. Vibrational hold
Both are gentle and effective.
