Introducing CLUB 911 🚨🚓🔥🚑

Club 911 is a four-day, hands-on program designed to foster youth interest in community emergency services including EMS, Healthcare, Law Enforcement, Fire and more. The program is open to youth 15-19 years old.

First responders serve a critical role in keeping citizens safe, especially in rural communities such as ours. Our goal is to foster youth interest in serving to make a positive impact our community.

The 2025 program will be July 28-31 from 8am - 3pm. Participants will learn hands-on skills and training such as CPR, Stop-The-Bleed, First Aid, triage training, fire simulations, police and K-9 investigations, and more.

Our next intern is Jordan Morthland!

Jordan recently graduated from Loras College with a degree in Psychology. She is obtaining a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through Culver Stockton College. Most of her experience consists of working with adults, however, she's looking to expand and work with young children.

CWM also has a couple of interns to introduce! First one is April Vaassen!

April is currently working towards her master’s degree in clinical counseling. She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from UW-Platteville and her first master’s degree in School Counseling from Loras College. Additionally, she is a certified John Maxwell coach, speaker, and trainer with a deep passion for helping others.

April has dedicated her career to empowering individuals to live healthy, happy lives. With over 10 years of experience in the helping profession, April has worked with diverse age groups and backgrounds, providing guidance and support through life’s challenges. She takes a holistic approach to clinical counseling, focusing on the mind, body, and spirit to foster healing
and personal growth. This approach allows her to address the unique needs of each client, promoting overall well-being and long-term success. She has experience working with children up to young adults when she worked as a School Counselor and College Instructor. She has also worked with adults as a Mental Health Technician at an in-patient psychiatric unit.

Additionally, since 2019, April has been coaching and training clients, assisting them in overcoming obstacles and thriving in both their careers and personal lives. April’s commitment to her clients is rooted in her belief that everyone has the capacity to grow, evolve, and reach for more. April provides a welcoming, judgment-free atmosphere that lends an open ear to anyone who is struggling in their life.

CWM is excited to announce the newest addition to our team in Dubuque, Marie Even, LISW!

Marie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the states of Iowa and Nevada. She provides therapy at the Dubuque office for children starting at age 6 as well as adults. She has experience helping people with trauma, anxiety, family discord/attachment, depression, ADHD, OCD, life transition stressors and grief.

Marie says, “As a Therapist, I hope to be a supportive guide! Utilizing a non-judgmental and compassionate approach, I work to provide direction through safe exploration of feelings, thoughts and beliefs that interfere with your daily life. I want to help people navigate the way to stability, self-love and wholeness. I am fluent in Mindfulness Based Interventions, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Art/Creative based therapeutic services.

I work with people to alleviate disruptive symptoms through solution focused interventions and challenging destructive methods of coping. I have worked with people from all walks of life - those struggling with homelessness, addiction, co-parenting skills, crisis interventions, family reunification planning and more. It is important to find a “good fit” when seeking a therapist. I hope we can connect and work towards your goals and help you FEEL better!”
