Having a cookout to celebrate the 4th of July? Before you can relax with family and friends, get prepped and ready to grill safely. Keep your family happy and safe by only grilling outdoors. If used indoors, or in any enclosed spaces, such as garages or tents, barbecue grills pose both a fire hazard and the risk of exposing occupants to carbon monoxide.

Come up with a safety plan with everyone in your baby's life! Ask your childcare provider to call you if nobody drops your baby off on a day they are scheduled to be at daycare. Make it a point to check in with whoever was picking the baby up from daycare to see how pick up went. Put your wallet or purse on the floor of the back seat when you are heading out for errands, this way you will have to open the back door, so quiet sleeping babies will be seen, especially when you're regular routine has changed.

Record breaking summer temperatures mean kids are at greater risk for heatstroke! When a car's internal temperature can rise by 19 degrees in just 10 minutes, it's important to double-check the back seat before leaving your vehicle. Most parents and caregivers believe it could never happen to them, but in most cases, the child is left behind unknowingly.
