Join us in caring for our community by advancing health initiatives in the North Country. Solicit philanthropic gifts in order to accomplish our mission.

The Foundation was established in 1990 to provide an important additional facet to healthcare - Community Outreach. The Foundation annually funds programs, which provide and support community health education and wellness as well as patient care enhancement initiatives. The vision of the Foundation at CVPH is to:

Encourage innovative proposals to cost effectively promote health and health education. Support worthwhile programs, which will improve the health and wellness of area residents. Promote an environment in which community members assume an active role in maintaining good health. Be an interactive and responsive community resource.

Join us for our Annual Jim Abbot, Dick Coffey, and Pat Russell Golf Tournament at Adirondack Golf Course for a day of golf, community, and giving back at the annual tournament sponsored by The Hoffman Eells Group CPAs.

Proceeds from the tournament support Foundation programs that improve health and wellness throughout our community.

Helping Patients Get the Care They Need — Wherever It Takes Them

Traveling out of the area for medical care can be stressful, emotional, and expensive. Through several patient travel funds, The Foundation of CVPH helps ease that burden for local patients and families facing some of life’s most difficult moments.

💚 April LaValley Fund – supports patients with cystic fibrosis
💚 CVPH Travel Fund – assists adults traveling for specialized medical care
💚 Melissa Lahtinen Penfield Fund – helps organ transplant recipients and donors
💚 Roger Senecal Fund – supports families of children with serious illnesses or injuries

These funds help ensure that financial barriers don’t stand in the way of receiving important care.

Because of the generosity of our community, patients and families can focus a little more on healing — and a little less on how they’ll get there.

The Foundation of CVPH joined UVM Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital who is a proud sponsor of the Honor Flight this morning. The Foundation of CVPH shared information about our Wish Fund which grants wishes for individuals in our community. The Wish Fund has even sponsored Veterans on previous Honor Flights.

Investing in the Future of Healthcare

Our Scholarship Task Force has been hard at work reviewing applications for this year’s high school and employee scholarships, and the future looks bright.

Nearly 40 individuals pursuing careers in healthcare will be receiving support to continue their education and follow their passion for helping others.

It’s inspiring to see so many dedicated students and employees taking the next step in their journey — and we’re proud to be part of it. 💚

A big thank you to UFirst Federal Credit Union for their thoughtful donation of goodie bags for new moms throughout the month of May!

These special gifts were warmly received by the team at the Alice T. Miner Women & Children’s Center at UVM Health – CVPH, and will help bring a little extra comfort and care to families welcoming a new baby.

It’s gestures like this that make such a meaningful difference during life’s biggest moments. Thank you, UFirst, for helping us celebrate and support new moms in our community. 💚

Saturday’s Safe & Sound event was a wonderful reminder of what it means to come together for our kids and families.

Our Family Medicine Residents brought smiles with a fun Teddy Bear Clinic, helping care for some very loved stuffed friends, while also offering blood pressure checks for families.

Our Clinical Education team shared important CPR skills for both children and adults, and The Foundation was there with information on programs and funds, plus some healthy snacks to keep everyone going!

A special thank you to Paedyn Wright, our MSW intern, for bringing everything together and organizing such a meaningful day.

We’re proud to be part of a community that prioritizes safety, education, and care for one another. 💚
