Thanks to your generous support, The Foundation of CVPH continues to invest in technology that helps our teams provide faster, more informed care.

In this video, see how your donations are helping bring advanced ultrasound equipment to our Emergency Department — giving physicians the insight they need to act quickly and ensure patients receive the right care, right when they need it.

This is the power of your giving — making a difference in real time for our patients, their families, and our community.

Meet Kerry Haley

Kerry has led The Foundation of CVPH for the past 15 years — but her connection to the organization goes back even further. Before stepping into her leadership role, she served as a Development Assistant for four years and even volunteered at events prior to that.

Her long-standing dedication, deep community ties, and passion for supporting local health initiatives have helped shape The Foundation into what it is today. 💚

We’re proud to highlight Kerry’s journey and the impact she continues to make every day.

Kindness in Action at Keeseville Elementary! 🍎💚

We’re honored to share this heartwarming story from Keeseville Elementary School, where students took part in the Positivity Project (P2) — focusing on character strengths and giving back to their community.

Each grade selected a meaningful service project, from supporting local food shelves to writing letters for veterans and seniors. But one project hit especially close to home.

Kindergarten chose to support the FitzPatrick Cancer Center, raising funds through the sale of paper ribbons for $1 each. Their tree of ribbons quickly grew across walls and doorways — a colorful symbol of compassion and hope.

To encourage school-wide support, students were invited to participate in a friendly challenge.

Kindergarten raised $511 and earned an ice cream party! First grade followed with $376, and Pre-K with $216.

Together, KES raised an amazing $1,351 for local cancer care!

Thank you to the students, staff, and families at Keeseville Elementary for showing that even the smallest hearts can make a huge impact. 💛

This past weekend, teams hit the field for the Save the Bo***es Softball Tournament, to support the FitzPatrick Cancer Center.

From big plays to big hearts, it was an incredible day of competition, community, and purpose. With proceeds going toward cancer care and support for patients right here at home.

A huge thank you to the players, organizers, and supporters who helped make this event a home run! 🩷

Helping Patients Reach the Care They Need—Wherever It Is.

The Foundation’s Travel Fund supports patients and families who must travel outside the North Country for specialized medical care. Each fund was created with a unique story and heartfelt purpose:

✨ April LaValley Fund – For patients with cystic fibrosis, inspired by April’s selfless wish to help others like her.

✨ CVPH Travel Fund – Assisting adults in need of care beyond our region, established by The Foundation Board in 2001.

✨ Melissa Lahtinen Penfield Fund – Supporting organ transplant recipients and donors, honoring Melissa’s enduring legacy.

✨ Roger Senecal Fund – Helping income-eligible families with sick children travel for treatment, continuing the community's love for Roger since the 1980s.

These funds are more than financial help—they’re proof of what compassion can do. 💚

Want to learn more or support a specific fund? Reach out—we're happy to share the stories behind the impact.

Building strong connections with patients is at the heart of how our physicians care for this community. Recently, one of those connections made a lasting impact — so much so that a grateful patient made a donation to The Foundation of CVPH’s Honor a Caregiver program in honor of Dr. Nicholas Tooley.

The Honor a Caregiver program gives patients and families a way to show appreciation for team members who go above and beyond in their care. When a gift is made, the honored caregiver receives a special notification and a “Healthcare Hero” pin — a symbol of their extraordinary dedication.

Thank you, Dr. Tooley, for the compassionate care you provide and the difference you make every day. 💚

Honoring Extraordinary Care at the FitzPatrick Cancer Center

Compassionate care can take many forms — and at the FitzPatrick Cancer Center, it’s often found in the thoughtful, dedicated work of caregivers like Dr. Anthony Vaccaro and Nurse Practitioner Rachael Hite.

Recently, several grateful patients were so moved by the care they received that they made donations to The Foundation of CVPH in their honor through the Honor a Caregiver program.

In total, three gifts were made to celebrate their extraordinary impact — each one helping to support others living with cancer in meaningful ways.

The Honor a Caregiver program gives patients and families a chance to recognize a team member who made a difference in their care journey. Honored caregivers receive a special note and a “Healthcare Hero” pin — a small token of appreciation for their big impact.

Thank you, Dr. Vaccaro, Rachael, and the entire FCC team for your commitment, compassion, and care.
